My charity was abused by a "friend" who needed "help" and I was a victim of gross parasitization.. they instead used these funds not really to help with their poverty (of which there was none, it was a lie) but for paying prostitutes and paying for luxuries.. I was incredibly betrayed and I don't think I will ever give charity or help to anyone ever again. There is a reason people turn into scrooges or misers because social trust is rapidly eroding. I can't even trust my fellow man to use these resources in the correct way, so why would I ever voluntarily give it to them again in the form of taxation?

Charity is bourgeois

It's a really stupid thing to do unless you 100% know the person and yeah I suppose that's a lesson harshly learned..

Expenses:
  • living needs
  • recreational

Funds:
  • Enough for recreation

Funds after gift:
  • Enough for living expenses and recreation

It's only good if you're not known for it, as it make you look insanely better in the eyes of the person you're doing it for
If you do it all the time it becomes part of your character description so nobody is thankful for it (they may even resent you if you stop being the "helpful one", whereas mister dickhead has no such expectation)

The problem is that society guilt trips young people into being altruists as moral security

The article proves that life skills are more essential than academic skills
Seriously.
We have seen time and time again that being academically gifted rarely translates into economic security.
It’s funny that I see a lot more economically stable boomers with unfinished education due to picking up trades and manufacturing work than I see economically stable boomers with finished education
