Anything beyond basic etiquette, which increasingly more people are disregarding or will probably think you’re a pussy for, seems like a scam and a waste of time. People decide if they like you in 5 seconds or 15 minutes if you’re lucky.

After that, it’s more a matter of whether entropy or determinism is at play. So is there really a point?

you’re just making excuses for being an asshole and an incel

do you have any friends IRL?

People always say this yet I see the past has a lot of interesting flaws in human behavior

like?

What does a wumpa fruit taste like? It kind of looks like a yellow peach. If they taste like a yellow peach I think I would. I do like peaches.

Dont be autistic. Its social status games all the way down.

>>771276
It used to be ok to drive without wearing seatbelts
Drunk driving used to be more common
Catcalling used to be more common
Childhood bullying was excused as “kids being kids” despite it ending with broken limbs, broken noses, or even suffocation

Smoking indoors was acceptable back then

What's the point of playing a game I'll keep getting my ass kicked in?

So same old shit then? then it is really time to check out

This. Society keeps guilt tripping people into “keep on keeping on”. And for what?
The more I preserve, the more pain and bullshit I have to put up with and the smaller my reward.

Yep. People often downplay/dismiss/rationalize the sins/vices of the past.
They even glamorize it as testament to character

  1. socialization is always performative. the only exceptions are when you think you know someone well enough that you think you can tell between when they're being genuine or not, but time spend with someone is not necessarily an indicator that you really know them.
  2. charm is the ability to "get on people's good side" and although it may be something you can use basic etiquette to cultivate I don't know to what extent people are going to be manipulated by "a charmer" anymore, because as you say, more and more people tend to be guarded and generally unwilling to patronize a stranger.
  3. the point to socializing is that you have to be able to do it comfortably to be a good little cog in the machine, or if you want to be more good faith about it, for your own sake, otherwise you'll be like a lost autistic child who can't fend for himself when the vast majority of time spent as an "adult" will involve socializing to some extent, whether you're doing it with coworkers, a clerk somewhere, your insurance agent, or your immediate family.
  4. personally, I only do what is necessary to get the fuck on. sorry but I hate people and I don't trust any of you motherfuckers. I'm not 'antisocial' iin the sense that I can't socialize, nor in the sense that I want to destroy the fabric of society, so don't pin that shit on me just because I hate listening to you people drone on. I don't give a fuck. please leave me alone.

You don't have to play the game if you don't want to, but you will need to adjust your expectations about who you can become and the kind of people you'll feel most comfortable around. That's not a bad thing but it might be an adjustment if you're afraid of being seen as weird or had daydreams about becoming a smoothtalking chad. On the other hand, you can learn all the rules and become fluent in them, but it's never going to be subconscious in the way it is for other people who see themselves as behaving "authentically." More like a musician who puts in the hours and can do an emotional performance, they still have to practice to do that performance. But here it's like other people somehow seem to know how to play instruments automatically while you need to grind for hundreds of hours, occasionally failing in humiliating ways but telling yourself it will all eventually pay off.

This. People wanna glorify socialization as some divine essence when it’s strictly utilitarian.

This. All this talk about “social skills” is paradoxically fruitless. Especially when schools micromanage childrens play for the sake of “social skills”.
People complain about kids becoming “asocial” despite the fact that adults are inclined to reclusion when outside of work

you mean aside from getting burned and ripped off by people again and again while trying to be a good faith and trusting person? true crime, I guess. there's an endless list of terrible happenings perpetrated by human beings and onto other human beings, both individualized crimes like what happened to mr. kilroy here, as well as organized atrocities like the rape of nanking.

needless to say it ain't personal, it's just that humans are both the predators and the prey, and I'd rather not become a statistic myself, but I don't mind watching others die from a good safe distance because vicariously I live while the whole world dies. you all need it too, don't lie.

Be more autistic, what Timmy gonna do?
Do you how much work I have to do in a fucking day dealing with several elderly people? Just yesterday some would be employer was getting irate because I hadn't responded. uyghur I don't have time. I don't have time to sleep enough, I don't have time to jackoff, I don't even have time to smoke or make myself coffee to get through the day. And this fucker is upset because I take a day to respond? Meanwhile he's probably ghosted how many applicants? Fuck him. Fuck his mama and his kids too. They should get raped on Epstein island.

Isis doesn't have to put up with this shit.
Cartels don't have to put up with this shit.
You will endure my autism. You don't get a choice.
