If you're some random schmuck and you turn 30 it's supposed to be over and you're supposed to settle down, but if you're an e-celeb you can be in your mid 30s or sometimes even early 40s and still be doing nothing but playing video games with your friends and doing travel vlogs and no one cares. Or if you're a Mamdani or Obama kind of politician you're like the freshest most charming face around.

Maybe we need to normalize suicide

Im trying to (re)start my life in early 30s, it is an extremely humiliating endevaour, being a decade behind your peers, having a giant L tattooed on your forehead, competing for opportunities with younger people full of potential. While still in 20s you can be considered late bloomer, but past 30 the world has given up on you.
Sorry for venting.

>>772596
you can just do whatever you want bro

>>772607
it's not that deep, I doubt anyone cares that much about how old you are, some MFs are 50 and look 30, some MFs are 20 and look 40 anyways

>>772607
I'm doing the same and I'm turning 40 in a few months. My life is a joke no matter what happens after. My youth was entirely wasted.

>>772596
if you're male and not gay then no one cares.
no one cares how men look.
no one is looking at you except your own reflection.

>>772627
>>772609
Why do you assume this is about looks?

>>772627
People look at me a lot.

>>772627
Wrong

This

This statement doesn’t fit the title of OP

>>772627
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Men are not expected to look pretty but don’t think they’re not antagonized for aesthetic flaws

Society gives more personhood to older people than younger people.
Youth isn’t as open in opportunities as you think.
Society patronizes you, trying to bar you from worldly affairs

>>772627
beautiful young hands wrote this post

>>772644
>Youth isn’t as open in opportunities as you think.
Who are you trying to fool? Everyone was young once.

>>772643
most cishet women are so afraid of becoming spinsters they'll marry the first man with a job that approaches them

>>772658
A lot of experiences are paywalled and also it depends on how open your parents are to you getting new experiences and also how well you are at keeping your parents in the dark if you are gaining experience that they don't approve. Hopefully if you're good at those things and have decent resources and parents then you could gain good experiences but knowing how most people are you will most likely be missing at least one of those thongs.

tbh it wouldn't feel so awful if there was some sort of passable social safety net, then i could live decades like the old janitor dude from "happy days", just kinda focused on a daily routine without worrying about the future, which is what all of this boils down to anyway

>>772667
i mean perfect days lol

>>772644
This. Boomers get away with fucking murder at work. I'd dare say boomers have to even easier than cis women in many cases.
That's why boomers are the foot soldiers of the bourgeois narrative and believe that shit down to their core.

>>772667
>i could live decades like the old janitor
Spending most of your life doing mind-numbing labour at the bottom of a social order seems absolutely miserable, avoiding this is exactly what brings me such a great aging anxiety, the older you get, the lower your chances of ever getting out.

>>772676
>Spending most of your life doing mind-numbing labour at the bottom of a social order seems absolutely miserable,
I'm actually a janitor and you're sort of correct. But I kind of wish I had started doing at a younger age and just gotten used to the misery. I mean I've largely been miserable most of my life anyways so it wouldn't have changed much.

Man, this is one of the saddest comments I ever read on this site. Is there nothing you can do? I mean even middle aged people change careers. Its too late to go to school, but cant you get some certification or trade? Do you not want to?

>>772683
I'd rather not. I kind of like working the hours I work since I work at night and don't have to be around too much people. Plus I can often get my work done with an hour or two still left on my schedule.

>>772658
Then you know that a lot of young people don’t have the means to achieve what they want

>>772660
This.
People forget that children don’t have money or rights. They’re dependent on parents for allowance for worldly exposure.
Pop culture has blinded us to this truth, making childhood seem like an automatic free range utopia.
In reality childhood is more passive chattel slavery

>>772676
what. being a janitor kicks ass. the pay is shite but if that wasnt the case i wouldnt mind being one

>>772730
Really? You wouldnt mind people seeing you mop the floors, you wouldnt mind telling someone that is your job? Especially when it comes to women.

>>772731
>caring about women

>>772732
Yeah, they are important to my overall libidinal satisfaction. Cant sublimate it all.

>>772680
Anon are you me?

>>772762
A lot of us, especially here, are this way.

>>772733
another sexhaving = brainworms evidence I guess

>>772733
Yeah, people act like sex desire can be subliminated without some kind of ego death. Nah if the opportunity presented itself 99% of people especially men will take it especially if they haven't been hardened by some kind of principle. Non religious people against sex 9 times out of ten have 0 bitches even if they wanted.

>>772783
Whats a ego death? Is it le good or le bad?

>>772660
a lot of things that are paywalled stay paywalled if you're a 30 year old loser while opening up if you're a 20 year old rich kid
worse still, there are often schemes for the young to compensate for low income, but not for late bloomers. (e.g. in scotland bus travel is free for <25 and >65, but everyone else has to pay. rail discount cards are available for being <30 and >65 or disabled, or a veteran, or living in london, but everyone else has to pay full fare. most schemes to help beginner artists, etc, are age gated at 25.)

>>772789
Even grimmer prospects when it comes to employment, there are all these state and private innitiatives to help young people get experience, that you are either completelly barred from or heavily prefer fresh graduates. If you fall behind the curve the ladder gets pulled and you have no way to catch up anymore.

>>772785
It depends. I've been told in a different thread that you need to go through ego death in order to get chicks but this other guy >>772783 is saying you need to go through ego death in order to get women (or in this case sex but same thing) out of your mind. I guess it just on what you want\don't want.

>>772605
>Maybe we need to normalize suicide
the japanese did that and it doesn't help much. it just enables the ruling class to enforce a burnout culture where every young person works a bajillion hours a week and burns the candles at both ends only to commit harakiri if they don't reproduce.

>>772789
What’s you’re describing is amenities also offered to elderly.

>>772805
There are initiatives to help low prospect adults over thirty. There are job programs, therapy groups, etc

We need to go back to starting adult life at fourteen to offset the delayed maturation in post boomer society

>>772835
Idk why people view procreation as the ultimate prize of human existence.
Like why?
Having offspring doesn’t dissolve the worldly crises that’s happening. If anything, procreation just sustains the problems of the human condition.

It makes no sense that poor people are the ones making babies they cannot afford and they’re not penalized for that.

>>772721
Yeah and when they get older it tends to get even worse.

>>772853
It's an inherited notion of success from a culture entrenched by centuries (yes, there's a biological drive towards reproduction, but that doesn't translate into procreation=the ultimate purpose of life, after all infertile people don't just all kill themselves. Success=starting a family is cultural). And like yeah, you can opt to not buy into it but from people who have bought into it it just sounds like cope, which makes you sound like a loser, and if there's a human want that's actually near-universal it's being respected by your community.

>>775801
What’s worse is that when adults have kids, they just turn into moralistic Karen’s who think they’re god just because they have offspring to care for.
They don’t even respect children as fellow people.

>>775799
This is why blue collar skills should be mandatory in schools
