I heard some interesting takes on Napoleon here. I once made a thread on the main board asking who was the best head of state in history and I was expecting answers like Mao or Castro or Lenin or whatever but the first answer I got was Napoleon. If you ask me as a pre-Marxist figure Napoleon did more bad than good, he was an imperialist, he was a monarchist who betrayed the French Revolution, he killed 80,000 Haitians in an attempt to restore slavery, he killed 2,100 prisoners in Jaffa, and he got rid of Women’s rights. However there is some positive things he did because he Emaciated the Jews, reduced feudalism around Europe, and built infrastructure. However he still did more bad than good but I would still oppose tearing down statues of him.
