>>776395>I don't believe he was the son of food or anythingthen why them preachers be tryna get me to eat the 'body and blood of christ' every damn sunday? fr man like damn.
>the problem is conservative christianitynah dawg, religion really do be "opium of the masses" aka a tool of political control. always was. it's why wars were fought in the name of god, and really, continue to be to this day.
plus, god ain't even real. yeah I'm an atheist, suck it religitards. but, look, I'm reasonable, alright? I think you should be able to practice your religion, it's just that I think we should live in a society in which religion is perceived as some weird spiritual version of pokemania. I don't want political policy to be wrought out of reading tea leaves, or horoscope readings, or other crazy bullshit, so why should it be ok for our politicians to openly admit to basing their entire worldview and political actions on equally crazy bullshit?
>b-but religion and pokemon aren't at all alike!!!dawg, please do open your eyes, like damn. pokemania was huge, and kids slobbered all over everything pokemon. it was a cultural phenomenon. well, guess what? religion is the same shit. do you really mean to tell me that people 600+ years ago wouldn't be fawning over pokemon cards if they had 'em back then? you lyin' to yourself dawg. people would be fighitng ideological wars over which starter pokemon do be the best, with whole religions built around that shit.
that's basically what religion originally was, just the world's most autistic fanbases fighting actual wars over their OCs and which ones were better. that they've endured to this day is just a testament to the level of enthusiasm people have when they're really invested in something.
