not because the anti-AI principle is incorrect (on the whole current AI is dogshit and most studies show it

one thing neoliberals have right in theory (though never commit to in practice because they want their precious tax cuts) is that the purpose of social policy in a market economy is to protect workers, not jobs. you shouldn't keep typesetters around inefficiently doing nothing in the age of laser printing just because you want to hold down headline unemployment. if they're going to do nothing, give them their free time back, and if you really, really want make-work projects, the state should employ them building something useful.
