80% of the western left's praxis is de facto just about outsourcing the burden of class struggle to the Third World. Like it was China in the 70s and 80s, then Iran, then Putin's Russia. when marx wrote capital in the 1850s and 1860s while living in england, he was studying the english proletariat, who were the most highly developed working class living in the most highly developed capitalist economy at the time… they were miserable! but not as miserable as the indians and africans living under the heel of the british. maybe it's not an oppression olympics but recognizing what group of people has the most potential to overthrow the current order. right now it's the 2nd world proletariat imo (you characterize iran, russia, and china as "3rd world" but really they are 2nd world).
