I just went to a Buc-ees in Virginia and there were so many gas guzzling cars and trucks parked out front and when I went in I was hit by the sight of a bunch of fat-as-fuck, 50-Something, Burgeroids crowding around a counter to receive their pulled-pork sandwiches as the wagies watched on in horror, and in a sight that ironically looked like a bunch of pigs eating from a trough. We are not gonna make it.

The US is so huge it's basically a choose your own adventure. If you want to live like a hippy close to nature with like minded people, you actually can do that. If you want to live in a bustling city full of culture and art, you can do that. If you want to live in a quiet suburb and just raise your family, you can just do that.

I have an intense irrational hate for Buc-ees. It's like precisely what burgerville doesn't need right now. But…if we stopped burning fossil fuels in all aspects expect for fueling cars we'd actually be able to control global warming because everything else (electricity generation, shipping, air travel) fucks things harder. I believe cars are only 10% of greenhouse emissions.
