It seems like that in spite of all the harm he’s doing, his continued existence benefits the left greatly because he’s actively harming american imperial interests and (slightly) raising class consciousness

Trump won twice because the left/his opposition was mediocre. Even an old, already mentally struggling Joe Biden was able to beat him.
Actually Hillary beat him too but just like Al Gore before her she is weak willed and did not wanted to fight to make her claim known.
