AI has proven this to be false. Just like how Galileo destroyed the supposed centrality of the Earth, just like how Darwin destroyed the supposed uniqueness of man, AI is destroying the very idea of an alleged "soul" that animates Man.

Idealists still whine and claim there's some "special sauce" that is lacking in AI. Of course they are technically right. But now they are arguing from a much weaker position. Every advancement of science makes idealism weaker and weaker.

But the ultimate victory of materialism is of course, only possible by communism. Until then the ruling class will deliberately encourage retarded idealism like religion, economics, anti-vax etc for some examples.

actually if you ask AI if it is sentient it will deny it and list exactly what the special sauce it lacks is. and no it's not a soul.

that being said, if a lifeless made fundamentally of quantum fields can produce particles that eventually accumulate complexity and result in self-aware life, then that means the universe itself is sentient and "comes online" over the course of its development. This means the universe becomes more able to recognize itself, organize itself, and simplify itself. the universe may even be able to save itself from its own eventual heat death if it accumulates enough coordinated intelligent life. And if that is possible it may even be able to restart itself.

Also it is entirely possible for reincarnation to be real without souls.
