The thing about White supremacy online is that you're damned if you respond and you're damned if you don't. If you respond, you're giving them exactly what they wanted: a reaction, attention, and affirming that their strategy of occupying space by being as edgy as possible is effective. They're looking for a visceral reaction of disgust, or for someone to engage them and try to push back against whatever inane horseshit they've shat out onto their keyboard, which is a futile endeavor on part of the good faith responder.
However, if you don't respond, then the shitposts they produce just linger in the air, like a turd in the middle of the kitchen table, its noxious stench wafting throughout the room. It demands attention, unless you're fine with dining alongside a huge and pungent turd.
The only effective means of curtailing White supremacy is to prohibit its dissemination from the start, and this is a problem for most imageboards, because the people who create them value free speech more than they value quality discussion. If you don't do that, then the fact that such speech is permissible, whether proliferated by edgelord trolls or genuine believers, has the added effect of attracting actual retarded White supremacists who think they're in good company, whose presence will grow and grow like a weed until they're a huge outcropping of the population.
I guess what I'm saying is that free speech is all well and good, but only if it isn't being abused for the sake of destroying the forum and/or general quality of discussion about any given topic.
All this being said, fascists are generally stupid people so of course their media is dogshit.
