Rest in piss, zionist bitch. Probably died of overdose or smth.
>died of sadness over her husband's death
suicide
>>789990foids are so stupid, imagine dying because of a man, that's so fucking gay lmao
I miss the edgy MLs who think every priest should be dumped into a mass grave, now this site is infested with unironic islamists.
>>789994im still one of those people. i thought persepolis was a great comic, i read it as a kid and i identified with it a lot due to being raised in a christian fundamentalist cult, so i was pretty sad to hear she had died.
>>789994me when i love marxistly being a zogslave
>>789997>Islamist peddling neonazi rhetoricMakes me kind of jealous, leftists jump on each others throat over minute differences, while you guys can all get along together so nicely. A perk of having no actual positive beliefs I suppose.
>>789998>neonazi rhetoriclmao the coming years are going to be brutal to your kind of faggy limp-wristed millennial ""leftism"". when israel is done fully radicalizing most young americans into actual violent antisemitism you're gonna miss people like me.
>Zionist
where the fuck are you getting that from
>>789997>zogstop letting burgers off easy, zionazi. burgers are not zogslaves, they are zogmasters. they are happy to help israel blow up children, and willingly contribute tax dollars to it. they do not lift a finger in protest despite being well fed and well armed. starving teenagers living in rubble put up a bigger fight against the actual zionist occupation of palestine than do the americans living under """""ZOG"""""
>>790004OP's logic is that she was critical of Iran and therefore is zionist. it's sort of one of these retarded backwards projections of the current geopolitical situation onto all of history.
>>789984skimming her wiki:
<Both her parents were politically active and supported leftist causes against the monarchy of the last Shah.<After the Iranian Revolution in 1979, her parents had to live under the rule of the Islamic fundamentalists who had taken power.<Many of her family and friends were persecuted, arrested, and murdered. She found a hero in her paternal uncle, Anoosh, who had been a political prisoner and lived in exile in the Soviet Union for a time<Satrapi greatly admired her uncle, and he in turn doted on her, treating her more as a daughter than a niece. Once back in Iran, Anoosh was arrested again and sentenced to death. He was allowed only one visitor the night before his execution, and he requested Satrapi.zero results for "israel" or "zionism." I would like OP to substantiate the claims. I don't say it's impossible, just saying claims require evidence and I have not found any from a cursory glance.
Is Persepolis any good?
She may have been an Israel supporter or maybe not. She may or may not have wanted her country invaded. If she did she probably would've wanted some vaguely socdem country with liberal western European values. Although a nato invasion would've most likely resulted in the opposite of that. The Islamic regime committed some errors in its past which resulted in hatred from people like this author but at the moment Iran seems to be the good guys or at least the better guys. Things change but I guess hearts harden over time and some break apparently. Things are complicated I guess.
>>790050> The Islamic regime committed some errors in its pastthe US didn't want the 1979 revolution overthrow their puppet shah, but once it did, the US supported the clerical faction against the communists, because as always, the US prefers a conservative, religious regime to a socialist one.
Read both the comic and watched its animated adaptation, and honestly I think it’s overrated. Not as bad as “Food Fight!”, whatever.
But I guess the fact that it was made woman from family of champagne socialist means the bourgeois will eat it up just like they eat up stories of “ethnic struggle” made by westernised diasporoids.
There are some orientalistic lies (such as the one about piecekeeps to get to heaven, which some veterans of the Iran-Iraq war see as falsehoods), but the thing with elite stories like this is that they aren’t made with locals in mind as much as for an international audience, so treat it as French media (since the author lived in France) as opposed to Iranian media.
It’s a story about Iran, but not an Iranian story.
As for it being used as a vehicle for western imperialism? Well, I see it in a similar manner as Dutch anti-Spanish propaganda during the Eighty Years' War which was effectively one of the first manifestations of anti-colonial consciousness whilst also being according to Spanish rojista propagandists as ground zero for the so-called “black legend”.
Yes being against islam is zionist, yes being against iran is zionist, no that doesn't make me an islamist. These are the facts, disagree=zioscum
>>790063There is no Islam or Palestine in a communist world. Your religion and your nationalism will be raped and gaped by us, even if you are useful idiots for the time being (and even your usefulness is debatable)
>>790077Boy shut yo sensitive ass up, religion will naturally fall away when material conditions improve, you don't have to be a weirdo about it
>>790077>Fuck Palestine, hail Netanyahu See how easy it is to fish out ziorats by praising islam? They literally cannot help themselves, talk about islam and ziorats will start frothing at the mouth imagining dead palestinians and raped muslims
>>790063>>790077You’re both stupid
>>789994As a Muslim myself I actually liked Persepolis
