>>792131Capitalism is just a game of "acquire the most resources, more than everyone else" at its core. It can really be said to be mercantilism on steroids, or some morbid and fucked up version of mercantilism that exploits participants so that the capitalist can be 'number 1 best earner' and get his name on the top of the leaderboard. This sort of system rewards the most cutthroat and cynical tendencies, which just so happen to be the same tendencies that are innate in humans. Enlightened society exists only insofar that it can suppress those tendencies in favor of civility.
When rightoids say that human nature gets in the way of the idyllic communist utopia, they mean that humanity as a species is too immature for such an advanced configuration of society, but they're almost always talking about it in the extreme. Communism would require a level of trust that they don't believe is present in most current day humans, and perhaps there's something to that, to say nothing of the notion that power dynamics will inevitably come into play as someone decides he wants to be the biggest gorilla on the block, and suddenly tribalism gives way to a confederacy which gives way to feudalism and suddenly we're almost back at post-industrial captialism again. Ain't that some shit.
