i think there's growing evidence that the left's perspective on feminism is outdated and needs a new patch. no longer are women being paid less than men. no longer are women less educated than men. no longer are women being denied rights that men have. it's almost entirely the other way around now, with the exception of bourgeois men, that surprise surprise, even feminist women tend to worship.

It's odd that despite the importance of dealing with gender and family dynamics/oppression there seems to be very little standard that the theory is held to, with a lot of obvious nonsense proliferating.
Even Marxist feminists tend to do really weird class analysis, stuff like saying that the model of the nuclear family is feudalism. Not that it has roots in feudal society but that husband and wife are engaged in feudal relations with each other, husband as lord and wife as serf. There are very real material tensions within a nuclear family and they include exploitation (unpaid reproductive labor is a big one), but just slapping on a label from a historical mode of production makes no sense. Like this kind of household only even exists because it is embedded in a larger capitalist system and depends on the husband leaving the house to engage in labor for a capitalist. That's not analogous to a lord at all, and unlike a fiefdom a household is not self-sustaining.
