and well, neither of those sentiments is entirely wrong nor right. if you want to be a bit nuanced about it, I think that modern science needs to advance more before people of the future can comfortably enjoy the ability to just change their sex, including genitals and hormonal profile. what we have now are primitive alternatives to evolution, that act more as cosmetic solutions than not (i.e. hrt is effective to some degree, but the other sorts of "body modifications" like breast enlargement or reduction are more akin to getting a tattoo or piercing than true transhumanism; getting genital reconstruction surgery is probably one of the most ill advised things you could currently do).

wake me up when modern science can alter your molecular and genetic structure in real time so you can seamlessly and painlessly become a fully functional member of whatever biological sex you want, or some newer amalgamation of traits that you pre-selected and wish to embody. sounds like some far fetched science fiction tech, but maybe one day humans will get there.
