2026 will the biggest grossing year since covid, despite large franchises crashing themselves. Showing that the younger generations are tired of franchise movies and want something else. I haven't seen them, but Backrooms and Obsession are becoming hits thanks to Gen Z while Mandalorian and Grogu is failing.
I think in terms of taste Gen Z is closer to their parents.
