I was so scared of the dark as a kid that I was afraid of closing my eyes. I got insanely depressed when it was time to sleep.

Now as an adult there's nothing I look forward to more than sleeping and being unconscious.

I used to get afraid at bedtime as a kid but because I was afraid of my inevitable death. My parents told me I used to wake them up as a toddler about how I was going to eventually die. I used to imagine as a single digit child about living to 100 years old as some of my relatives did, but that was not enough for me. I used to get panic attacks about it until I accepted death. I feel the same as you said. When I accepted death and that I would eventually get tired of this shithole world. Now I'm tired of it yet I'm just keeping on keeping on until I go.

They had me on the speed as a young boy, and that is when I went off the deep end independently imagining transhumanism and how I was going to put my brain in a box and live forever if I developed the technology in the next century. Then I had an epiphany about infinity, and what living infinity years truly means. This conversation, would mean nothing. Every single experience you ever experienced would mean nothing when it is 1000, 10000, 1000000, years in the past. It's a very insane idea I only entertained as a wee child yet the people who control our world consider it a serious idea.
