I believe the current iteration of the Taliban is somewhat less extremist from the ones that ruled in 2001. More extreme Islamist have shown up on the scene and I believe the Taliban are generally not friendly towards them. Hopefully a bigger integration with China, Russia and Iran will help in moderating their ideology.

They suck, although foreign intervention sucks so just let their regime collapse and hopefully something better will pop up
