I think people who aren't a sexual minority wildly underestimate how much of pride and making your sexuality your identity is a reaction (!!!) to discrimination, and once said discrimination stops there will be far less reason for one's entire thing to be "I'm trans and I'm proud!" or whatever. Which is crazy because that observation feels like it should be trite at this point and yet people still don't seem to grasp it.

Even though their progress has been impressive, there is still work to be done. And they've got their rights by standing their ground, not by folding like little bitches in fear of being called idpolers. Additionally, even if 100% of the minority rights were achieved, Cuba (and most of the world) still has a homophobia and machismo problem – kids still get frequently disowned by their families even in the so called developed countries (the numbers are shocking, look it up) for being gay. So the activism needs to continue.
