Tbh dying young is a blessing
Don’t have to worry about old age
> Life is pretty pointless. It's more of a curse than a gift. Even if you get old, which you most likely will, a lot of the later years is just worrying about your health and the last few years is often just barely beating back death until it finally gets youThis. I especially am amused at a lot of these positive affirmational platitudes about senescence being “the golden years” or whatever.
People wanna justify longevity as a virtue but most people over sixty five are often in pain, both physical and psychological. They spend more time in the past than in the present and dread the future
Society tries to dismiss this as “fear of aging” as “youth worship” but even those who complain about “youth worship” would give anything to be young and vibrant.
But what’s really bad is how people often throw around these empty frivolous platitudes for young people to “find yourself” and “don’t worry about the small stuff” and it often ends in total mediocrity
Or these people who say they wouldn’t fix a single mistake they made because it “helped them develop as a person”
And there’s these people who say “life is like a test” or other obnoxious similes/metaphors
