Its very funny that leftists would consider that liking someone for their physical feature is alienated while liking someone for their personality is wholesome and human. My brother in Soyence your personality is as much a part of your genetics, class and upbringing as your body is, and similarly is very hard to change especially for people after puberty.

Like, ok, people have their own way to get their kinks up, but insufferable woke people throwing shade at you for having a functional libido because of this pseudo-gnostic idea about 'personality' is just laughable

Stopped reading there

Thats just the truth dumbass. I'm not saying that genetics is all that matters, but some people just can't help being confrontational and angry all the time, or at least has a way harder time to not be angry, because their genetics affect their hormone production.

>>801868
And even without genetics or epigenetics, there are permanent conditions that would literally shape your personality for the rest of their life- autism is the greatest example of this.
It is important to hammer this again and again because the left's view of personality as something you cultivate means that they can simply dismiss people with personalities that do not conform to societal norms as bad people or people who are too lazy to "work on" their personality.

>>801868
Sure you might have a harder time not being angry but you are a thinking being, it is on you to moderate how your anger affects other people. Like don't you get that if you have an impulse to be bad but are good anyway that's even more virtuous? Do you seriously think that people that do good in the world never have negative thoughts, bad days, etc?

>>801871
I mean I sort of get what you're saying, I think everyone has basic human dignity regardless of their personality, everyone is entitled to a certain level of respect unless they're harming others

>Thats just the truth dumbass. Some people just can't help being criminal and violent all the time, or at least has a way harder time to not be criminal, because their genetics affect their intelligence quotient.

>>801872
Of course, i agree. Hormones can affect your mind but most people of reasoning age understand that you can't just get angry all the time; we literally wont survive as a species if everyone just crash out whenever they feel like it.
But it is hard man, coming from someone with an emotion and impulse control problem. My problem is with uber woke people who keep harping about personality as if its the 'true window to the soul' or some nonsense and not a very mixed bag that some of us do not choose to have

>>801876
>If u think anything is heritable you are Hitler
Are we even being serious here

>>801876
Fine, i'll bite. While some people might be more inclined towards criminality because of their personality traits, economic trends like criminality is not a result of individual preferences. This is like saying that uneployment is high because people are lazy, which is nonsense *even if* laziness is ingrained in genetics!

leftypol will never admit this truth

I hear you, you can't please everyone though. Some people are always going to be offended by you even if you're literally doing nothing. Just disregard weirdos and (I'm sorry) feminists who think you're assaulting them by not following the latest bullshit social rules you didn't get the memo about. Just be a good person and if you offend people that hate you just for being autistic just view that as a bonus. They're not in your head, they don't know a thing about you, fuck them, find your people.

There is no such thing as a "personality". It is just some made-up bullshit people use to police your behaviour.

The trvke that shook the 'beria

>alienated
this gon be the new buzzword for the year and we will ALL be using it wrong

Externally apparent personality is quite easy to manage. For example, I used to be the average /leftypol/ anti-idpol moron and now I'm some kind of pro-Woke type once I looked at some charts and realised it's shibboleths and fandom all the way down. All it takes is a small amount of tact for this to go from being an insufferable contrarian little man to a very tolerable progressive, despite clearly still holding a lot of views that would rightly have me executed if I said them in the wrong context. I actually used to be much worse than I describe. I know personality is malleable because I have manipulated my own.

I take no view on what people are attracted to (social desirability bias is such that they'll always lie) but judging people by personality is essential. 15 minutes with any opinion survey will tell you that politics today mostly functions as a personality test.
are you a pseudointellectual elitist virtue signaller, or an actually mentally retarded vice-signaller? are you high openness, mid-low conscientiousness, high agreeableness, or are you low openness, mid-high conscientiousness, and low agreeableness?

>>801868
Insofar as that's genetic, people with that burden should not reproduce. Insofar as it isn't, society should be structured in a way that alleviates this.

>>801871
Autism has a huge spread within it and is a useful illustrative case: Autism should theoretically kneecap your openness and agreeableness while hiking your conscientiousness (which is in practice mostly "rule following") but extremely online autists are at worst split down the middle between woke transsexuals and 4chan nazis. there is nothing anti-human in loving the former and hating the latter! the latter are themselves anti-human!!

"Judging people for not conforming to societal norms is vaugeposting." it is one thing to judge people for not conforming to a societal norms in a high-openness way (e.g. LGBTQetc) and another to judge them for not conforming in a low-openness way (e.g. open racism).

>>801880
Given that you're posting here your "real" personality in big-5 terms is quite possibly tolerable even if you suffer from some kind of emotional dysregulation. Here's a free trick: whenever you read some woke nonsense, do not take the words literally. Ask yourself instead what they're actually trying to say. A lot of the time they're just vent posting about one specific person or signalling generic values!
(e.g saying I post about how Mao was right to kill sparrows. Odds are, I am not saying anything about Mao or Sparrows, I am saying "I am a Maoist and I am willing to say something contrary to widely held opinion to show how much of a true Maoist I am", so an argument that killing sparrows is wrong, or bad policy, will flop because all you're actually doing is giving me another chance to affirm how true a Maoist I am, to defend the honour of the great helmsman like this. Almost all politics are like this, even "centrists", who are mostly performing a vibe. That's why they want to compromise with the right even as it gets more extreme: just another chance to show how moderate I am!)

However difficult it is to manage the problem in real life, behind a screen where you can hold off replying for 5 minutes you can be whoever you want to be, whoever others want you to be, a synthesis of the two or the opposite of both…

>>801903
Big-5 is so reliable in predicting political alignment (particularly if you disaggregate neuroticism into its component parts) that it is hard to hold this view in the face of it. The good news is: extraversion is a total wash, it predicts nothing.

>>801861
>Its very funny that leftists would consider that liking someone for their physical feature is alienated while liking someone for their personality is wholesome and humanity
I wouldn't, nor do I know anyone who would. You're making my hay fever act up with this new strawman.

>>802064
>but extremely online autists are at worst split down the middle between woke transsexuals and 4chan nazis. there is nothing anti-human in loving the former and hating the latter! the latter are themselves anti-human!!

There’s often a lot more overlap between these two types than you think

>>801903
Personality exists but a lot of personality diagnoses are overused to police people, especially young people.

You fundamentally misunderstand what epigenetics is, and seem disinterested in actually learning it.

The expression of genetics is dependent on environment, it's why your identical stem cells knew to become the kind of cells they are in the body, and that extends to larger scale expression like behavior. You have no coherent refutation of this.

>>802407
true, but they're usually moving one way or the other.

>leftists would consider that liking someone for their physical feature is alienated while liking someone for their personality is wholesome and human
I understand what you are trying to say, but the word "leftists" is gravely missused here. This is a completely normie opinion shared by conservative grandmas.

>>802512
This. Most “leftists” are really just radlibs at best

>>801861
who gives a shit? your personal opinions have literally nothing to do with communism

>>802512
>>802551
communism isnt part of the left/right division of bourgeois politics

>"If you hate A, than you should also hate B because of general principle C"

This is the same mentality behind Graebener and "But Antifas are the reeeaaal fascists"; In this case changing your appearance, and taste in, is actually easier than changing your personality, but that doesn't take away the fact that living with an ugly person that's nice is better than the opposite and I don't care if eugenics is the solution to that

Moreover, unempathy overall has very low heritability, and narcissism is at least mostly due to non-shared enviromental factors.

TL;DR ~ Grow the fuck up.

> Insofar as that's genetic, people with that burden should not reproduce.

Don’t you know, that’s “le heckin eugenics and eugenics is le bad!”

>>802555
Highly agree with both points
I don’t think most “leftists” want communism anyway

>>802555
>communism isnt part of the left/right division of bourgeois politics
Left-right spectrum encompases more than "bourgeois" politics.
Sourse: thats how virtually everyone uses the word.
