Make a personal website on neocities or nekoweb, self-host later if you want and have the resources.
Use bluesky as a diet twitter for a year or so

Like, normal instances where the admins aren't trying to recreate the hugbox they had back on twitter.
HOA instances tend to be the ones where all the drama happens, and why bluesky people get the idea that it's a bunch of fiefdoms; because they're the type of people to gravitate towards HOA instances but they understand that that's boring.
Non-HOA instances just block chud / malicious instances and dead-dove-don't-eat whatever else, so they tend to actually be federated with the rest of fedi rather than being in an archipelago.
