this whole red card saga is the most spiritually israeli episode in american history (yes, more so than all the actual imperialism) and is proof that you guys are cooked in this coming century.
>the supposedly unpopular president does something nakedly stupid and corrupt
>everyone, even the most self-righteous norm-loving fags, hurries to defend it by simultaneously presenting it as:
>divine providence that proves that america is special (not as something deliberately done by a loathsome guy)
>something that any country would have done (despite it never having been done)
>"just how the game is sometimes" (ditto)
>proof of a superior american warrior spirit that "knows" red cards are bullshit because you should always compete against teams when they're in top shape (which would mean americans would totally also intervene on the opponent's behalf if they were facing a team with a red card as well, right?)
then when they deservedly got their asses kicked and the whole world dunks on them for it they started acting like poor widdle victims
this insane amount of hubris, self-importance, and joyless megalomania would be bad enough by itself, but it's combined with SUCH whiny self-righteousness that it cancels out any genuine outrage and just becomes fucking annoying.
to be evil and imperialist is one thing, but you cannot be this obnoxiously PATHETIC at the same time. THAT is the real decadence. it's over
