Why were europeans the only group to be able to conquer the entire planet?

>>804904
Having a monopoly on advanced technologies during that period, similar to all the horse lords who conqured a large portion of the world at various times.

Because of internalized racism, methinks?

To satisfy their wives' BBC fetishes

This picture conveniently include only the countries that survived to the modern times, and our modern category of what's being "Europe" (go tell some guy living in bohemia in 764 he is le white european) else the majority of Europe would also be considered colonized

>>804953
if we go by that logic the entire world is colonised though

funnly enough the map implies poland colonized the world when they spent most of their time attacked by everyone and only some mercenaries/advisors for britain and france fought overseas, that the baltic colonized the world when their history during colonization was living under serfdom to the czar, or that finland colonized the world when they had to deal with the swedes and russians too

not to mention romania, and bulgaria, and if we stretch it hard enough the persians colonized greece and the greeks colonized persia so it should be more than spheres of influence

Japan's occupation period was a joint US/Britain occupation, actually.
North Korea was controlled directly by the USSR from 1945 to 1948
Mongolia was directly controlled by a European under Ungern-Sternberg.
Iran was under joint USSR/Britain control during WWII.

i could use a joint right now

  1. Correct combination of geographical, political, and economic conditions to make exploring the Atlantic (and accidentally reaching America) both possible and desirable.
  2. Diseases that wiped out 90% of the Indigenous population before Europeans even settled there in large numbers.
  3. Superior technology (though not much more advanced than the rest of Eurasia) allowed to subjugate the natives that remained.
  4. Exploitation of America's resources (and African slave labour) allowed for primitive accumulation and promoted the development of mercantile economic models.
  5. This created the correct socioeconomic conditions for industrialization.
  6. Industrialization before anybody else allowed them to conquer the rest of the world.
  7. Now that the rest of the world is industrializing, European supremacy is undergoing steep decline.

Basically they were just lucky in terms of geography, plus the constant fighting and disunity of the continent created a strong incentive to seek advantages over their rivals. Remember that the voyages of Columbus only happened because the Portuguese had already mapped the African coast and a sea route to Asia. It was basically a desperate gamble by the Spanish to get an advantage over their neighbours.

seafaring(pastoralism on water)+ capitalism(led to industrial revolution tech) = global imperialism
