And in all these situations, it’s the state that decides what does and doesn’t count as “consent”, actual willingness be damned.
Likewise, “adulthood” much like whiteness is an unstable socially contingent concept that rests upon an anthropology of conflict centred around opposition to the “other” much like whiteness, with the “other” being the child or the non-white, both concepts being unstable. While there is a clear difference between an infant and a geriatric, the difference becomes much less clear when comparing between 12 yo and 18 yo as many of their cognitive differences are less due to biology than due to greater societal constraints being placed on youths compared to legal adults. Hence why “minor” as a legal category didn’t exist until 1971 when, prompted by youth liberationists and anti-Vietnam war protestors, Congress amended the US constitution to lower the voting age from 21 to 18.
The USSR, for all of its flaws, was actually good (especially before Stalin) for not moralfagging when making laws. Hence why the USSR had no law against any kind of incest, nor did it have an AoC.
