You don't understand why normcattle love football so much? It's actually very simple: every football match is essentially a 90 minute edging session.
Think about it. Every time the ball is near one of the goals there is an enormous amount of anticipation, which 90% of the time is abruptly cut when they don't score a goal. It's a constant wave of ascending and descending anticipation, until their favorite team scores a goal and they essentially cum their pants.
The other factor is a sense of belonging: Being a fan of a certain team makes people feel part of something, even if they don't actually do anything.
Finally, they see pro soccer players almost as deities. They look grandiose to them, so they get excited for their success or failure. It's very pathetic, actually. They don't know the players personally, they have no impact on their everyday lives, yet they still get excited for them while they remain to accomplish nothing whatsoever. Football fans are even more cucked than actual cucks.
Such is the mindset of the person cucked by the media: living through the successes and failures of celebrities instead of their own. Capitalist entities pour billions to keep the masses distracted with this. The World Cup is engineered to appeal to the most bourgeois ideals people have, mainly nationalism, but also "great man" bullshit.
Now, this is not to say football is bad, sport is a great activity, and watching local games played by people you know is a great way to build community, but the porkies in charge of this bread and circus have taken sport and put it against the people to divide them and keep them in mediocrity.
You may already know this but 99% of people are manipulated by this system. It's rather sad, and I wish it wasn't this way.
