Weird but I get it, Nashville got hit by waves of monied tech Californians and I got a little chauvinistic even though I've never even liked my local culture. The town still got demonstrably worse, but mostly cause of everything getting expensive.

California has been gentrified since the 1850s. It especially got even more gentrified since the 1940s with suburban development and the bohemian counterculture craze of the 1950s, 60s, and early 70s.
