Yeah, there's definitely truth to that. For example, not that long ago, the governor of the Vologda Oblast changed and started appointing his own people to positions all across the region, and this affected my town too. BUT before that, my mum's friend's husband became the mayor of the town, so I don't know, it all depends on the town and the time.

You're talking about becoming a politician like it's a just something you can just spontaneously do. There are actually a lot of things preventing you from this:

You're a massive overthinker.
You care too deeply.
You're a be-safe type of guy. Message me when u get home. Have a good night, type guy.
You have so much energy.
You give your all to people who don't give you half back.
You would do anything to make someone happy, even if it means you get hurt in the process.
You need reassurance all the time.
You'll push the bourgeoisie away when you feel like the energy isn't reciprocated.
You love old-school romance, and that's just not a thing for the current generation of bourgeoisie representatives.

Also being a politician does mean kissing ass to the point of self-sabotage.
