Somebody on another forum was asking, "Is it still possible to become normal when you have been a chud your whole life?", without realizing that the worldview which the average person holds would not have been the same as one 100 or more years ago. The average person today would've been considered the ideological minority and very much an outcast in the way of ideas. You yourself would've been kicked around for your own ideas about things knowing you. But in this post-world war world, your ideas are more accepted now. Your great great grandparents however, likely, would've been "chuds" as this was the average thought pattern of the day. Furthermore I really wish people wouldn't use the words "normal" or "chud", as it's very insulting in serious conversations. Siiiigh.

No, it's not the same. A guy being racist in the 1950s is completely different from someone being racist in 2026. You have the internet, there is an insane amount of resources to prove that racism is retarded. Someone in the 1950s did not have access to the same information so it makes sense they would come to wrong assumptions based on what the culture was pushing them towards, a chud today has no excuses.

We had newspapers, TV, and radio in the 1950s. In the 1950s, everyone was preaching about racial equality and all that.

Nazism was th result of North America and Western Europeans entertaining eugenics. It wasn’t just poor people who did it. It was also practiced by the educated.

normal is a relative term that can be only defined within an arbitrary context. it is a statistical term when it is at its least philosophical, but even then it still depends on a context. a person can have a "normal" weight or an "abnormal" weight depending on where they fall on a normal distribution curve. but you are sort of right. the world is not normal. most planets are dead. most stars do not have life-harboring planets. most of space is empty. most of the atom is empty. emptiness seems to be the ultimate norm and existence is the strange thing. Basically yes but this can be approached in many different ways and not even just by astronomic measures. It's just a bit irritating whenever I hear or see someone say, "normal", as if this is something that needs to be said. They could use any other descriptor but they for some reason, have to use that one. It's very nonsensical. It's very stupid. It shouldn't be in one's vocabulary if they can help it.

My great grandparents were way less "chud" than my parents, wtf? They were writing editorials supporting unions breaking prisoners out and damning the formation of the state police. Maybe it's a regional thing, but my town was flipping supply vans during strikes in the sixties. Now we have a Trump themed bar and a blanket ban on wearing clothes that don't fit your assigned gender in public.
