Anyone else find these folks really annoying in a small, petty way?
Like they’re not some kind of big problem, they’re just kind of a fly in the ointment that shows up in a lot of nerd or discourse circles, and they always have really shallow and loud vibes-based opinions on politics and art that just make you roll your eyes and go “okay whatever.”
I'm not sure I know what you are talking about. What's a hopepunk?
>>814984>Hopepunks>these folksNo idea who these people are.
>>814985>>814986You’re better off
no but seriously why is he purple?
>>814984never heard of it before this post, but I read about it and I guess it has something to do with reclaiming sci-fi and fantasy books to make them /r/wholesome instead of edgy or dark? well that's gay, I hate /r/wholesome. I hate what they did to joaquin phoenix's joker in the sequel with lady gaga. I historically find tumblr to be insufferable.
this is probably a result of boomer moms getting internet access somehow, if not some corporate plot to ruin media.

I think hope is pathetic. Hope is the opposite of action. If you want to have a better life for you and your community then you need action, not hope.
>>815041What actions have you been doing?
>>815045careful, the glowies want a confession
>>814998i know but i cannot say
>>815043What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my cadre in the Cheka, and I've been involved in numerous secret expropriations on the bourgeoisie, and I have over 300 confirmed kulak kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire Red Army. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USSR and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the NKVD and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the world, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.
>>814998Let me just say, when you will see the next colour, you will shit bricks. You are not prepared. Nothing can prepare you for it.
>>815058i don't see anything wrong with that particular post. it's pretty basic marxism:
>[…] it is only possible to achieve real liberation in the real world by employing real means, that slavery cannot be abolished without the steam-engine and the mule and spinning-jenny, serfdom cannot be abolished without improved agriculture, and that, in general, people cannot be liberated as long as they are unable to obtain food and drink, housing and clothing in adequate quality and quantity. “Liberation” is an historical and not a mental act, and it is brought about by historical conditions, the development of industry, commerce, agriculture, the conditions of intercourse.- Karl Marx, The German Ideology, 1845-1846
>>815061But if there is absolutely no possibility, one can quickly kill oneself without hope.
>>815063What does that mean? There's always a 'possibility', unless you have been captured by the enemy and are being tortured to death (at which point suicide would be the correct option). You can't liberate yourself inside your head, you have to take part in a movement to do so. You can hope all your life and nothing will change, or organise and take concrete action. Hope is just a form of Christian idealism that has been normalised. It's also different from simply wanting something which you aren't yet in a position to achieve, or which you might never be in a position to achieve. Hope is that an outside force delivers what you want to you.
>>815065Bordiga grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Lenin grant me the courage to change the things I can
Marx grant me the wisdom to know the difference
>>814984same here OP, once you understand what Idealism is and it sets in that an absurd amount of people have a worldview solely based on vibes, aesthetics and pop culture consumption you can't go back
The US being on the brink of collapse gives me hope.
>>815065>It's also different from simply wanting something which you aren't yet in a position to achieve, or which you might never be in a position to achievePseudointellectual slop
>>815129What do you mean by that?
i indulge it from time to time. i dont know how u can do it every day tho
>>814984Yeah. I think it's mostly to do with the fact they never really can articulate why or how circumstances should or will get better. It's always just, "someone somewhere will figure something out and then things will be good again." Or, "Things have been bad before but humans always find a way!" Zero depth or meaning, just vague gesturing. I unfortunately know several of them.
>>815041>Hope is the opposite of action. That's fucking retarded. Without hope no one would ever even take action, you'd just sit there and rot dumbshit.
>>815065you sound like a miserable person to be around ngl
>>815304I'm a very happy person usually I smile a lot and I'm really hyper-active around other people, probably I'm more annoying than miserable to be around.
>>815297It's literally the opposite. When you hope, you are paralysed and sit around doing nothing. But when you realise only action achieves what you want, you will go out and do it.
>>815353people who hope for things to be better, most of the time,do it because they aren't going to do anything in the first place, stopping them from hoping would just make them be depressed and feel despair while they still do nothing,it's a cope not a rationalization for why you do nothing
i roll my eyes at any movement that is not explicitly communist
