China before the capitalist roader's coup led by Deng Xiaping and his dogs, who undid the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution and abandoned class struggle.
Yugoslavia was revisionist scum, creating the blatantly revisionist concept of "state capitalism" and becoming a proxy of the West.
Everyone who sided with the USSR after the Sino-Soviet split were also revisionist scum.
Albania under Hoxha claimed to be anti-revisionist and even sided with Mao for some time, but then denounced Mao as a revisionist, failing to see his advances in Marxist theory.
Kampuchea under Pol Pot is sometimes regarded as "maoist" but they never claimed to be, and Pol Pot was a huge retard who didn't even understand Marx and probably just sided with Mao because he hated Vietnam.
The closest we've been to another true socialist country was Peru but the porkies sadly won that time and when Gonzalo was captured their entire revolution fell apart despite being so close to making it.
There are currently Maoists waging revolutions in India and The Philippines. Perhaps in the future we will see them become the next light that shines the path towards communism.

Cuba came the closest. It has the largest percentage of worker cooperatives in the world and has punched way above its weight in the human development index rank. All things considered, Cuba is a case of overwhelming success. The only reason why it's a shithole is because of the insane amount of sanctions it's been subjected to for decades.
