/siberia/ - Off-topic

I was involuntarily hospitalized last month, eight cops showed up and practically perp walked me. To add insult to injury, it looks like my main guy soft fired me afterwards. I took a week off just to decompress, then applied for a few jobs. One of them made it seem like I was hired, but it's been almost two weeks now and they've ghosted me. I went to another interview, but I wasn't the only applicant, and that's never good. I stopped by another place nearby to fill out an application, but I have no relevant experience, and not a single reference.
So now I've almost burned through the meager amount of savings I even had, and every job I apply to is always "we'll call you back" but they never do. I've tried posting ads on Craigslist and Facebook, nothing. I tried going to a staffing agency half an hour away and there wasn't even an office at the address. I've put up signs and flyers, still nothing.
I'm ready and WILLING to work. I'm young, strong, and able-bodied with no intellectual impairment. Why isn't there some sort of third party where you can basically say "I have four limbs and a heartbeat" and get hired tomorrow? I still really have no idea how any of this works. Why isn't there someone who can just be assigned to me and help me? It makes me feel like a huge baby.
