A short question quiz about the world which has two odd characteristics:
  1. The more educated you are, the worse you perform
  2. Most people perform worse than random chance.

How well did you do? Be honest, this is an anonymous board.

what does this have to do with leftypol

>>816875
the general economic and political state of the world + how accurately /leftypol/ understands it.
It'd be fun to cross compare with /pol/ tbh but OP didn't post it there

Missed 6, 7 and 11

In regards to 7, I'm interested in how we calculate this. Have criteria changed over time? What counts as a death to natural disaster? Willing to accept I was just wrong but I am curious and might look into this. Adding it to the list.

> The more educated you are, the worse you perform

this isnt even true, this shit propaganda has also been pushed quite literally last week in our course, its the worldbank data repackaged in a quizform. its being pushed by eu state and other bourgeois democracies recently. the same quiz you can find on our gov website lmao

10/13
fucked up endangered species, distribution of population (2bln africa + 3bln asia was wrong) and said the number of people dying from disaster stayed the same
what do I get

>>816878
>>816879
and also, the reason i call it propaganda is because it leaves out important context like bourgeois economists love to do, playing with statistics essentially

>>816879
I would classify most of these as misleading. Many of them aren't necessarily outright false, but they depend on intentionally misleading definitions and specific wording. Definitely a quiz with an agenda, and if you search around a bit they just outright spell that out. The goal is to "prove" that westerners think the world is worse than it is. Unfortunately the quiz did nothing to dispel me of the impression that shit is fucked. You can show a lot of untrue things by playing with numbers and words.

>>816881
Yeah this essentially didn't see this post before I posted this >>816882

>>816882
Why do you think people in middle income countries generally think the world isn't fucked and is in fact getting better?

>>816884
I'm not them, and how are we even defining middle income countries? It probably has to do with recent improvements in their material conditions. Material conditions have been generally improving for most people globally. I think that will soon change.

Lol

>endangered species
One of them is listed as endangered on wikipedia, and one of them as critically endangered. Which is what I was thinking of but then the answer is none. So not sure where they're getting their data from. (10/13 here)
>>816889
Polls are usually moved or deleted

>primary school
this is elementary right? secondary is high school. im going to go with that

>>817172
wait no it's elementary and middle. ill go with that assumption

>Flood detected o algo asi

what the fuck is a low income country? is china a low income country? im assuming they're middle and india is low?

>>817173
>How did the number of deaths per year from natural disasters change over the last hundred years?
total number of deaths? vygha please. ill say doubled because its not a rate

>>817178
i failed

>>816882
the "which of these three species are still endangered today" particularly pissed me off. not only is the cherry-picking really blatant, the answer is phrased in a way that makes you think black rhinos are no longer critically endangered (they are), so they can't even cherry-pick right

i was annoyed that the first few questions were anchored around "low-income" without ever defining their meaning, and skipped to see the results. i can see how it's a steven pinker-adjacent "le world is doing okay" lib hopium

ass

>>817298
the funny thing is that "middle income" includes multiple countries that libs would insist are poor because of too much leftism

File: 1787376733633-2.jpg (240.43 KB, 1080x976, f.jpg)

The questions and answers are written in such a way that half-informed people can easily the select the wrong answer based on what they might "feel" is right. Im a STEMlord but I do enough reading of demographics just for fun that I knew the correct answers

>>817311 (me)
I think people kind of underestimate how much improvement there has been in the standard of living in the third world, not just China, so that's where most of the wrong answers might come from.

>>817298
Yes that's the intention of the quiz, and they're also right. There really has been a huge improvement in QoL in poor countries.

I think where people in rich countries falter is that they don't realize poverty is a huge spectrum. From rich country POV, you only have poor country where people live in slums, middle country where people live in small apartments and minimal treats, then rich country with clean cities and lots of treats.

But the reality is that the widest part of this spectrum in the poor country part. There is a wide gap between the standard of living between someone from Niger and India. There is another wide gap between India and Botswana. There is another wide gap between Botswana and Thailand. All of these are just classified as third world, but the difference between each pair is bigger than any differences between first world countries and second world countries.
