this is peak goyslop

Chuddies like Carlin because he speaks of an unidentified (((elite))) but hate him because he is anti white

>>818601
Tbf, I don't think even Carlin understood what "elites" meant. His idea of elites was probably WASPs who looked down on people for doing weed.

No used the b word in his books and one or two shows, he defended looting during hurricanes arguing that corporations are the real looters, he was clearly influenced by socialism/anarchism, in his biography there was a quick sarcastic mention of Marx and Engels but I forgot the context.

But he was ostensibly a post modernist who rejected meta narratives though he admits inside him is an "idealist"

>>818608
he sounds like a 1960s/70s leftist around the time norman finkelstein and his maoist sect were plotting overthrow of the us government then got disillusioned.

>>818599
Edginess must always be on the "edge" of culture. Where it becomes mainstream, sharpness is blunted, and so loses its marginal appeal.
>>818601
>Unidentified elite
He uses the parochialism of "white Republican bankers" in different places - as if white Democrat bankers don't exist, or whatever. Very "vote blue no matter who" energy, which is disappointing. Bill Hicks was more generally transgressive, but that's also because he had a type of spititual surety. Hicks used the c-word ("capitalism") loosely, and questioned the media, while I'm sure Carlin looked down on the "conspiracy theorists" who thought JFK's death was not so random.
>>818607
Carlin and his audience were part of the cultural elite. That is always the trick of rebellion - same way that Nirvana were the mainstream.
>>818608
>influenced by socialism
Not quite; he identifies with the "middle class", not the working class. You can watch it in vidrel.

>>818615
>Carlin and his audience were part of the cultural elite

Maybe he was since he was a celebrity obviously, but his audience? Literally how?

>>818615
>he identifies with the "middle class", not the working class
Maybe I'm wrong, but I read that as an unmarxist definition of class where proles fit in to the middle class and the "poors" are lumpen, which would make everything else he says spot on. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he was a crypto-anarchist and sent money to anarchist orgs.

>>818608
>he was clearly influenced by socialism/anarchism
Like every other hippie fag of his generation, it was just a hodgepodge general idea of rebellion, with no actual theory, his "critique of capitalism" was about as substantial as the rick and Morty writing team.

Those guys were even lamer.

Comedians have always been and always will be annoying fags, being an annoying faggot is simply a requirement for being a comedian. They should all be sent to forced labor camps.

I mean that's basically true of all public figures, they all go on and on about how their job actually sucks and we should feel bad for them, I wish they would just shut up, if you feel bad go see a therapist you don't have to cry to the rest of the world that actually works for a living

>>818637
>The dinosaurs choked on the dust
>They died because God said they must

>>818615
>he identifies with the "middle class",
He attacked middle class whites and women many times doe

>>818635
Nah it's easy to be a good comedian. Mark Thomas has never set a foot wrong worth caring about. Second to that: if you just focus on actually being funny above all else you'll also be fine.

The problem with someone like Seinfeld or Gervais or whatever is that they're stupid assholes with idiot opinions to the detriment of their comedy.

>>818637
Like building on this, it's basically a branding and marketing problem.

>>818635
maybe its bc they never had to work so they have no point of reference. if they had to work 6 days a week maybe theyd realise they were privileged and had an easy life all along

>>818615
>keeping them showing up to those jobs
He is referring to the class that lives through selling its labor. If he was pro petty bourgeoisie he wouldn't defend looters.

Until comedians start making jokes about Islam, I don't want to hear a single word about how they "speak truth to power" or other such nonsense

You can easily joke about Islam; Islam itself is a joke. What you definitely can't joke about is Judaism.

>>818731
so the thing they constantly do?

>>818731
>t. Christcuck

>>818772
NTA I'm an ex-Muslim and I hate both religions

>>818731
That would only be speaking truth to power in an Islamic country. In the west it just reads as having dropped out of the year 2004 unless you go surrealist with it.

Not in Ba'athist Syria and Iraq

>>818820
Holy based. Saddam could have saved the Middle East

>>818861
Maybe if he hadn't been enemies with the Syrian Baathists. Anyways that writing is from Syria.

i wouldn't lump bill hicks and george carlin in with the others, bill hicks never really attained any mainstream popularity at all and only attracted a cult following from the internet long after his death, george carlin's mainstream popularity peaked in the 70s with his "7 dirty words" goofy hippie era which was really quite tame and nothing at all like his misanthropic atheist doomer grouchy old man era and like bill hicks, attracted a cult following later on from the internet. and both of them were basically untelevisable, bill hicks was dropped from his letterman debut because of his jesus jokes and basically lost his one chance at mainstream popularity, george carlin's standup specials were only broadcast on hbo and his regular tv appearances were all squeaky clean material with no profanity or sex or religion or politics talk. it's easy to be an edgelord now and people will throw piles of money at you for it, but before like the mid-90s or so it was basically career suicide.

I went to Dealey Plaza recently. there are Xs on the street where JFK was shot.
The first shot, I think, is feasible. But the headshot that killed him is crazy.

It's also not like that time period wasn't full of proven conspiracies, like the Operation Northwoods, Bay of Pigs, Watergate, the Gulf of Tonkin, Cointel Pro, MKUltra. There was a lot of shady shit going on, and it's only reasonable to look at the assassination of a US president with a large dose of skepticism.

This was basically Nothing Ever Happens: The Show

Don't comment on things you have no acquaintance of.

>weren’t in the mainstream
>were getting paid millions by HBO
what is it then? Either way, stand-up comedy has always been crass and aimed at insulting and demeaning society. If you look up most of the “racist films” of all time, barring the ones from the 1930s, 99% of them were often made by politically liberal or left-leaning people, like Matt Trey and Parker see >>818998
