How is this not a perpetual motion machine? Why don't they just make something like this but a million times bigger and generate free energy forever?

>>819312
perpetual motion machines don't exist, it's pretty basic physics. energy can't come from nowhere

>>819312
as for this machine in particular, it either has a battery or a power connection, or is something that requires only a minimal amount of energy to get started and will keep going for a long time, but not forever, like a metronome. or it could be spring wound which is just another form of battery which again doesn't last forever

>Hold onto your catch as this fishing boat swings nonstop in a pendulum balance toy that teaches physics principles in an entertaining way. This 177-piece DIY ROKR puzzle is powered by gravity and a gentle nudge that puts the model into motion.

ok, so it's like a metronome. definitely not free energy.

Porky wants to preserve artificial scarcity instead of allowing free energy

>>819321
You joke but unironically there's millions of people who believe this, truly 'the socialism of fools'.

What about the Sun?

>>819327
Porkies, as a class, wouldn't stop it, but porkies, individuals would absolutely fuck with it to stop it from happening, look at the fossil fuel lobbies

>>819342
I mean if perpetual motion was actually real, it would be impossible to contain. Every big corporation would want to be using it and eventually it would leak out.

>>819312
how is it perpetual dumbass? the motion stopped after six seconds

>>819394
Click the "[loop]" on top, it will go on forever.

>>819340
The sun is an incredibly large fusion reactor, not an infinite energy source

>>819396
Is it going to run out of fuel any time soon? For all practical purposes, it is infinite.

>>819398
>For all practical purposes, it is infinite

"incredibly large" and "infinite" are in fact an infinite difference away from each other so it kind of is a big distinction. besides this is a discussion about whether perpetual motion machines are possible, the sun isn't one so that doesn't give any evidence of them being possible

>>819400
It's a smug idealist distinction used to win internet debates. From a practical, materialist standpoint, one can consider it an infinite source of power.

Anon what the fuck are you talking about
