Tell you want, if you want a movie to watch right now, why not try Run Lola Run/Lola Rennt, it's fairly light but enjoyable (to me), you can report back to us if you liked it or not and why.

Maybe some prime-tumblr era edgy art? Ever read Johny the Homicidal Maniac? You will see its influence all over the place among contemporary animation.

If for some bizarre reason you prefer to exert physical effort, search your area for obstacle course races you could sign up to.

take the naturepill anon, get a field guide of whatever taxa interests you the most. Once you get a good grasp of your local species and communities its basically impossible to be outside and be bored at the same time. its only expensive if you buy niche field guides,binoculars,handlenses or microscopes otherwise its also very cheap.

well, people here are going to recommend you a bunch of artsy stuff but that is only going to alienate you further. it would be very easy for me to tell you to start with terrence malick or thomas anderson or whatever, but that's not going to help you in a conversation because most people don't have that culture

so, if you just want things to talk about, literally check whats trending on netflix and watch that. for music you can do the same with spotify. and this isn't media that was made to be consumed with your full attention, most netflix shows were made to be on the second screen, if you pay too much attention to them you might get bored, so try watching them while you're doing something else

last but not least, don't read books: most people don't; the few that do, are reading smut and probably don't want to talk about it, specially if you're a guy. maybe you can hint that you have read something, but nothing is more alienating than being a pretentious or elitist know-it-all. nerd shit is really popular now, so maybe try getting a little into fantasy and board games, even if it bores you to death. that, and tiktok or whatever social media is popular with young people right now
