"upper middle class" are just the bourgeoisie. They think that, since they didn't get invited to Little Saint James that they're actually "middle class" and just like your average wage-worker.

The middle class is a made up bullshit term with very vague limits that could mean anywhere from labor aristocracy to the petty bourgeoisie, or even the bourgeoisie that isn't straight up oligarchs like >>825957 said. It doesn't matter if you own means of production or not, this is entirely based on vibes.

Depends. Lawyers and doctors are proles while small business owners are failed bourgies.

I love them. They're mostly pleasant people. I resented them until I got my life in order because I was upset they could have anything they wanted, not realising that I wasn't even trying to have the things that were in my grasp.

They're ignorant of how bleak things are for others, sure, but there are actively malicious people out there. Give me a lib ivy league professor over a trumpoid used car dealer any day.

Compared to whom? If you want to restrict yourself to just the big 4 "classes" - the underclass, working class, middle class, upper class, then middle class is the one with highest proportion of quality people. Intelligent, educated, cultured, empathic. Again, relatively speaking. Working class people are by large ignoramuses that take upon themselves the worst aspects of middle class conventionalism, but lack the means for self-actualization. Upper class are blood sucking reptilians. And the underclass half-beasts.
Although we do see changing structure in western world, with middle class collapsing and working class acquiring their own intellectuals for whom society no longer offers upward mobility.
