>>828474the left are "disunited" because their worldview leads to an undifferentiated world, e.g. one where we are all in mimetic competition with one another.
the right are currently united because they want a differentiated world. they may disagree on the exact hierarchy, but all of them want to be isolated from their failures - and from mimetic rivalry - by being able to go "ah, but they're X and i'm Y"
peter thiel understands this on an intellectual level, but every other rightoid understands it instinctively. why do TERFs ally with conservative men who clearly don't like women against trans people? the answer is actually very simple: because TERFs
like the box of womanhood. they like being able to go "that's men's stuff" / "that's women's stuff", and transgender people pose a threat to that because - by showing that male and female are not immutable categories - they do not allow you to use this avenue for differentiation. if someone of the opposite sex is better than you at something, you cannot hide behind your sex and go "ah, but i am the best X at Y…"
put another way: rightists want to be big fish in small ponds, and leftism trends towards putting everyone in the same pond.
(this isn't actually true, leftists in practice just change the nature of ponds and have the ponds compete. e.g. i'm the smartest girard pseud on /leftypol/, perhaps you're the only one who understands marx, by differentiating ourselves from one another in this way we limit our sense of competition, but the rightist - with a low openness personality type coming up again and again in studies - cannot imagine this. they can understand and fear the abolition of the old distinctions, but not the creation of newer and better ones.)
