From experience i know that these fucking scanners don't always pick up on unpaid items because i know people who have left items at the bottom of their cart and forgot to pay for them whilst not setting off any alarms
Obviously you can't do that for everything but there must be a way to cut the cost of shopping this way

Be careful on stealing from big stores like Walmart because they will let you walk out until they have enough evidence to take you to court. I believe they usually wait until you take 1000$ worth of items to take action. Not sure if they’re more or less strict elsewhere.

If you can, take stuff with you into the bathroom or changing room. you can rub off any barcode with rubbing alcohol or you can wrap the item in cloth.
You can steal from Costco or any store that checks receipts at the door by buying groceries normally once, keeping the receipt in your bag and stealing the same items again later. I haven’t tested this one yet so don’t blame me if it doesn’t work.
If you want to go shopping at a mall buy one actual bag of clothing, keep the bag with you and stuff other items at the bottom of the bag under the clothing. Even better if you buy something cheap at the register, looks less suspicious.
You can use a seam ripper to take the little clip thingies out of clothes.
DO NOT DO YOUR SHOPLIFTING LOCALLY. Go to the next town over. Do not become recognized. For any burgerfags here, shoplifting in another state is amazing because the charges will be dropped if you stay out of that state long enough.
Do not be drunk or high when you shoplift. Don’t look suspicious. If you’re a woman purses are your friend. If you have a girlfriend take her with you and tell her to put shit in her purse. Women are less suspicious and have high carrying capacity

idk how it is in the uk but in the us the prices are so inflated at this point that even if you rip a few things off you're still the sucker, what the business is raking in selling this worthless garbage is more than enough to offset your little five finger discount. but if you do want to shave off a few dollars at the grocery store, here are some tips and tricks. scales on the self checkout scanners have a bit of flex and you can get away with putting your thumb over a barcode or two or stacking a few thin packages and making like it's just one, so long as the items are just a few ozes and you don't trip the scale and make the machine lock up and play back a video of you for the store attendants to watch. and this is probably us-specific, but if it's a huge big box store like a walmart or something and you're buying something that literally comes in a big box you can go to some deserted corner of the store and tear open a hole at one of the seams and slip a few small things in. as for the human element its just all about appearances. the way you look is the main thing, your race and the way you dress and your body language and facial expressions. being white gives you a major advantage obviously but it doesn't make you untouchable, if you look like a homeless bum or a deliquent teenager they'll watch you more closely, if you act nervous or hurried or unnatural compared to the people around you, you'll stick out like a sore thumb. and it's not just the store workers you have to watch out for; the world is full of busybodies who can't wait to make a citizen's arrest and feel like a local hero for 5 seconds and tell all their friends about how they took a noble stand against the moral decay of society. and when it comes to consequences, don't think it's just about the money and they'll let it slide if it's just a few dollars, because it's not really about what you stole it's about how it looked when you did it - you've disrespected the store and the company and the employees and made them all look bad by ripping them off in front of witnesses so they now feel obligated to make an example of you to protect their public image, so if you do get caught play dumb and pretend like it was unintentional and if they don't buy that, immediately and calmly and quietly leave, do not argue or go with them to the back office or listen to anything they say, they're trying to make a powerplay and keep you in the store until the cops show up. and the cops won't let it slide either because their job is all about appearances too, the whole world is just the truman show and everyone's an actor following a script and performing for an audience, it's not governed by reason. if you keep all this in mind and be small and subtle and don't get greedy or stupid, you probably won't get busted.
>>830616>You really don’t want to have shit on your record, it will make things so much harder for you in the long run.this is actually what made me start ripping stuff off at the grocery store, i never stole anything in my life until after i busted for having dope years ago and got a felony record and became nigh-unemployable. so now i live in perpetual poverty working shitty low-paying jobs and i now have an incentive to be a petty criminal because i have to pinch every penny just to make ends meet and if i get caught the consequences can't really make my situation any worse than it already is. everyone says the system is fucked up and seems to chalk it up to just bureaucratic and political incompetence, but i personally suspect that the system is working exactly the way it was designed to work, so that people who can't or won't fit in and play ball with the middle-class square world tend to fall through the holes into the lower class and stay there forever. society wants me to be a criminal and a piece of shit, society needs to have a lower class to do all this low-paying grunt work and justify the existence of the police state and serve as a scared-straight program for the middle-class to keep them line and also make them think that they are superior and have status and integrity, so really i am contributing to society and i am basically like a selfless civil servant doing what needs to be done. it's a hard job but somebody's gotta do it.
