Basically the way i want to live life is to collect as many different experiences and be a part of as many different happenings and events. I dont want to be conventionally "sucessful" or necessarily have a high grade life but to instead just live and do shit as much as possible so that when Im elderly i will have crazy stories to tell. From little things like getting a tattoo or being part of a funny event at work, to "bad" things like having been to jail or taking part in a bar fight, to big things like achieving status or academic sucess. It was inspired by reading Victor Frankl and how he describes the past as the only permanent thing along with our life stories we give it for safekeeping. I want to leave an imprint on reality with my existence and build a "resume" for my death. When I die I want people to remember me as an interesting person who did crazy shit in life. Just doing shit and hoarding experiences and events i caused or was a part of that will be my footprint for eternity, even if cosmically insignificant. Anyone relate?
Pic unrelated.
Nobody is going to remember you.
>>831143Thats not really the goal albeit
Ignore the cunts here you're doing it right. We measure time subjectively by counting distinct events we can remember, the more uniform and unremarkable your life is the more you'll feel like you've wasted it because you can only dredge up thirty minutes worth of memories for an entire decade of your life. When you're older you generally won't care that much about the negativity of most experiences and you'll just remember them as stuff that made your life richer and more interesting.
>>831146You must be fun at parties
>>831143>And on the pedestal these words appear:"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
tl;dr everyone gets forgotten eventually dumby.
FACE TATTOO
or
GET AN INSIGHT ROLE
i feel the same way, but i've been to jail before and that one isn't a very worthwhile experience, it costs a hell of a lot of money and it's really fucking boring and it's not an interesting story to tell at all, nobody cares about how you sat around playing dominoes and watching daytime television and eating ramen noodles with junkies and schizophrenics all day.
what's it like to have sex with a twink?
>>831130That takes a lot of money and looks for people to give you the time of day.
>>832038Like having sex with someone who actually wants what you want.
I was a NEET shut-in growing up but when I turned 30 and came to grips with my mortality I started doing this
>>831926I think I would be but for some reason I am never invited.
>>832043you call those people? if you smear shit all over yourself you'll probably attract a lot of flies, does that mean shit is important?
>>832896the metaphor takes on a very different meaning when you step back and consider what a fox is in comparison to what a grape is.
wouldnt it be cool if you could have save states in real life. you could do a shitty first run just to gather intel and then do your next runs with that insight and minmax your life making the best choices
>>833163The so-called "learning from others' mistakes" build, unavailable to us as it is only unlockable by reading books.
>>833163>wouldnt it be cool if you could have save states in real life. you could do a shitty first run just to gather intel and then do your next runs with that insight and minmax your life making the best choicesthat would be horrible. it wouldn't be real life anymore and nothing would matter, nothing would count, everything would conform exactly to our expectations and desires in every way and we could never learn anything or evolve or take any path that might lead somewhere we never thought it would lead to, we would be profoundly and utterly alone in a universe that just becomes a mirror that reflects ourselves and nothing else. why do you think billionaires have to rape children and shit?
>>832785> came to grips with my mortalityseems like you haven't after all
because when you die all the experiences you've accumulated will rot together with your brain
"you can't take it to your grave" applies equally to experiences as it does to wealth, which is why all forms of hedonism, even enlightened "intellectual" ones, are a dead end
even the bourgeoisie know this, sure they indulge, but mostly they really care about the Idea(tm) of capitalism, which is why ghouls stay in politics until they drop dead til 90
when you're jeffrey epstein and everyone you interact with is fake and the whole world you live in is fake and every direction you look in is elaborately arranged to please you and give you exactly what you want at all times, the only experience left that truly feels real is the experience of an innocent child suffering at your wretched hands. and then pretty quickly, even that loses its edge and it becomes just another business.
what is really real are relationships, not things and experiences. that's what the universe really is, lots and lots of relationships from the quantum level to the cosmic level and all the matter and energy and phenomena we perceive is just the secondary byproduct of the relationships. likewise, our lives and everything that happens in them is just the secondary byproduct of our relationships to ourselves and the world. without the relationships, without the emotional investment, nothing is real. it's just a performance.
>>831130>Victor Frankl and how he describes the past as the only permanent thingIt's actually the complete opposite. The past is in constant flux, the future is determined.
>>833177if you took this idea as seriously as you claim to you wouldn't single out "hedonism" as uniquely flawed
