From the creation of 4chan in 2003 to now, what was the most unfunny meme ever created from there? I'd have to say it was the alt right frog who rapes women while complaining that he has no gf right here.
I second the Pepe thing because it made the original artist sad. He only wanted to draw a weird frog. They ruin everything they touch
>>832088soyjaks are pretty descriptive of society. their all i see now when i talk to people.
>>832088soyjaks were the beginning of the end for online memes
>>832091most people are oversocialized moralfags with no real ethics.
I think if pepes and soyjaks weren't given artificial SEO boosts back in 2016 they would've lived and died in their prime.
>>832082pretty much everything that people consider cringe and unfunny about reddit culture originated on 4chan in the 00s, so i would say that.
uygha stole my bike
It's just racism.
probably "an hero", it was a typo by some 12 year old writing a myspace eulogy for their friend who committed suicide, and even at the time i didn't get why this kid killing himself was so funny to people on 4chan. looking at what 4chan evolved into over the years kind of gave me a clue. i think there were two kinds of people on early 2000s 4chan - young teenagers like myself who were coming off the high of cutting edge comedic entertainment such as dane cook and family guy who were seeking newer and more exciting thrills, and full grown men who had serious emotional problems and were extremely lonely and angry and suicidal and wanted to everyone in the world suffer and die, and were so stupid and obnoxious and unlikeable that they had to hang out on a site full of naive bored teenagers all day because no one their age could ever stand to be around them, and a lot of them were/are probably registered sex offenders.
Wow, you guys have zero sense of humor
Worst meme out of 4chan? Not really exclusive to 4chan nor is it a meme per se, but retards that greentext outside of imageboards.
>>832137That came from YTMND, not 4chan
>>832145You should an hero, anon
>>832088100% this
>>832092>Oversocialized shut up faggot
>>832191Humor was a lot more innocuous back then. Now, it's all TOTAL UYGHUR DEATH, 41%, WYPIPO DUN SEEZUN DEY ASS, IM THE GIGA
>>832192People don't believe you when you talk about how quickly the culture on 4chan and adjacent places shifted between 2014 and 2016. I'm certain the average channer in the early 2010s was an Obama-glazing lib.
>>832194this is literally just r/brandnewsentences redditor humour thoughbeit
>>832206u buttdevastated?
epic bacon narwhale
>>832145Didn't he kill himself because his iPod got stolen?
>>832205>I'm certain the average channer in the early 2010s was an Obama-glazing lib. They weren't even liberals. The average 4channer in 2008 thought of Obama as le cool Black guy. They didn't really believe in anything, so fascism was chosen for them. The Nazi brainwashing was there even then on sites like ED.
>>832191>300 meme>2013ish300 was more late 2000s than early 2010s. BTW, vid related is a TF2 map full of classic mid/late 2000s 4chan. NGL, most of it was just stupid and cringe. The real cause of the feud between Uncyclopedians and EDiots was simply the narcissism of small differences.
>>832141>ainsly harriotvve mvst retrvn
Does anyone have the full version of that text, which starts with 15. burger king foot lettuce?
Can I haz cheeseburger or whatever it was
>>834739what the fuck sis
>>834739Not even doom music😢
>>834739can i haz chickenz plz LOL
I doubt this was a meme outside of /mu/, but jerkcity comics.
>>832205>>8325954chan supported Ron Paul in 2012, simply because he was pro weed-legalization and was anti-establishment.
Frederick Brennan (RIP) talked about the shift from political apathy/nihilism to fascism 4chan went through in his Jacobin interview.
You have to understand the internet wasn't as politicized and polarized as it is now. We went from one extreme (political apathy, "things are what they are", i.e.
post-politics) to the other (incessant political screeching about the latest news of the day while neoliberals and fascist ghouls remain firmly in charge, i.e.
hyperpolitics) after Occupy and Trump's first term. Regarding 4chan, hiroyuki and rapeape are responsible for this, as moot was a pure post-politics guy, but it was something going on beyond 4chan.
Fascism was in a way a natural fit for 4chan as it was edgy, transgressive and taboo, but there were originally leftist mods like modcat, and Stormfront also coordinated to target 4chan.
>>834867the whole thing about postpolitics turning into hyperpolitics is very true but also an imperial-core-centered narrative, and must be so frustrating to hear from a perspective in the parts of the world where "postpolitics" was never a luxury and it was one US backed coup after the next.
>>834867I went too far with "Obama-glazing lib" but there were definitely "our president is black and pisses old people off and that's cool" kind of guys. Not people who had any conscious commitment to liberalism or DNC politics but people who were just vaguely content with the state of things. People who used "thanks Obama" as a sarcastic thing. There was no real anger at the status quo, the disaffection wasn't pointed at any recognized larger force, so even supporting the weed candidate was just a casual, unmotivated thing.
>>834895i was never one of those "thanks obama" sarcastically people but I was 16 and excited for obama in 2008 simply because it meant the end of bush. i was too young to vote. but by 2012 i was voting for lolbertarains because obama didn't end the bush wars. by the time i realized lolbertarians were a fraud and capitalism was to blame, everyone was voting for trump as an "outsider" while I was watching the DNC fuck this "socialist" guy bernie sanders. then i learned bernie sanders wasn't a real socialist and real openly socialists call for overthrowing the government, and i learned i was a treatler and my life was easy , and blah blah blah, and actually i'm the problem for living in the imperial core. i'm a slow learner. now i have accepted that things will probably just keep getting worse and are way out of my control. i am old and irrelevant. i see kids making the same mistakes i made falling for zohran mamdani, who seems to be obama-meets-sanders, and will prove to be just as disappointing.
>>835760>i see kids making the same mistakes i made falling for zohran mamdani, who seems to be obama-meets-sanders, and will prove to be just as disappointing.Well, he can't be president. Most he could be is a senator or governor(are foreign borns even allowed to hold a cabinet position since they're in line for the presidency?) El-Sayed is the new Obama.
>>832082Popularizing My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which led to the deaths of thousands of Iranians, maybe millions by the time it's over.
>>834739In retrospect, NEDM was a glimpse of the ultra-violence that would later characterize the likes of the Groypers, 764 and Terrorgram.
>>834867Moot created /pol/ right after he met with Epstein. He was in on it just like Girlvinyl (Powerword: Sherrod DeGrippo) and everybody else. It's just amazing how Chris Poole and Sherrod DeGrippo have completely escaped accountability for the fascist Frankenstein's monster they helped create. At least Hotwheels denounced his own involvement.
>>835760>then i learned bernie sanders wasn't a real socialist and real openly socialists call for overthrowing the government, and i learned i was a treatler and my life was easy , and blah blah blah, and actually i'm the problem for living in the imperial core. Most people would shoot Hitler if they had a time machine but I would shoot Herbert K. Stallings, the real founder of American Maoism and probably the man behind "J. Sakai". The COINTELPRO "Left" has done so much damage.
>>835776>Is this fake?I'm 100% sure that it is. I probably would have heard about this a long time ago if it were real.
