it's a highly exclusive monoracial monogender social group where new applicants who do not have wealth/political connections are expected to prostrate themselves and endure a long period of grueling humiliation and torment to prove their absolute submission and allegiance to the group and the reigning members are the sons of wealthy influential members of the ruling class and the group are granted tremendous lenience and legal immunity to all manner of criminal behavior because "they're good boys with bright futures and they just got a little carried away is all" and whole institution is basically a de-facto training course for the next generation of brett kavanaughs, the idea is to give these young men a taste of what the elite life is like and show them what is possible if they tow the line and uphold the tradition and preserve the heritage. it's sort of like ben affleck's big speech in boiler room to the new trainees at the brokerage firm, you dazzle the young men by giving them a glimpse of what wealth and privilege are like and make them feel like they've just got their foot in the door of an elite secret society that most people in the world could not even dream of and that they would have to be insane to walk away from it now and squander such an incredible opportunity. fascism 101.

you're either being obtuse or you know nothing about what fascism really is and you think it's just a style or an aesthetic or set of policies. you can't understand politics by just looking at the outward expression and memorizing the names and the vocabulary, you have to actually study and think and use your brain and understand where it all comes from, the underlying social dynamics of authoritarian societies and cults and things of that nature. it's not enough to just read, you have to think about what you read.
