I think that alcohol tastes bad and that being drunk feels boring and certainly not worth the hangover. You just get dizzy and dumb, it's so extremely overrated. I'd much, much, much rather be high, it's so much more fun

It sounds like your body reacts to alcohol in a different way. You shouldn't be getting dizzy from just a few drinks. But that's fine, not every body reacts to chemicals the same. I'm like you but with weed. Weed causes immediate dizziness and shortness of breath for me.

i like a beer, as long as it's not some redditor IPA microbrew garbage that tastes like carbonated dish soap. i've been drinking regularly since i was like 14 so beer isn't even really drinking to me it's practically a soft drink.

I like beer but I was taking antidepressants for a while and if i had more than 2 beers I would get violently ill. I'm off it now but I'm still paranoid about getting sick again. I used to drink old style

they finally brought back the original newcastle to the us, one of the few commercially available beers that i like. i think that reddit is actually somewhat responsible for ruining this beer in the us. redditors in the various beer subreddits like to pretend to be knowledgeable beer snobs and they consistently slag off newcastle for tasting "skunked" which they attribute to the clear bottles because they read online that sunlight causes skunking of beer. but what it really is is, they are used to american craft beer made with massive amounts of citrusy/soapy american hops because the beer itself is cheap flavorless pale malt brewed with aggressive high-abv fast-fermenting yeast with bad off-flavors they mask with tons of fruity hops, so when they drink an old-timey english beer with earthy english hops it tastes off to them and they conclude that the beer is skunked. and companies unfortunately defer very heavily to reddit for market research now, especially non-us companies trying to do international outreach and get a vibe for us consumer opinion and they assume that redditor opinions are actually representative of normal sane intelligent human beings. so they saw all the american redditors complaining about newcastle being skunked due to clear bottles, and also us sales of newcastle had plummeted due to it being one of the many products accused by psychotic influencer vani hari of being toxic and causing autism, and so a new americanized version of newcastle was developed for the us market with brown bottles and obnoxious amounts of citrusy american hops like IPAs have, which completely clash with the flavor of a dark ale and it tasted like absolute shit and everyone hated it, including the redditors who hated the original and whom the beer company were trying to cater towards. no one should ever listen to redditors or social media influencers or any kind of insane attention-seeking lunatic for consumer opinion about anything.

The only reason I drink alcohol is to get drunk, and hard liquors do the job much better.

i've always liked to have both. if i actually want to get drunk i start off on the rye or brandy or vodka and when i'm properly good and drunk i'll switch to beer to sort of keep the drunk going until i go to sleep and then drink a beer the next morning to relieve the hangover. there's nothing worse than ceasing to be drunk after being drunk imo, i try to avoid it whenever possible.

In the past beer was the only hygienic drink as alcohol kills bacteria. Peasants were quite literally in a small buzz entire year. For me beer is the chill option as I dont get too drunk and end up in fights.
