This is (You), yes (You) who is reading this.
>you are communist because youre poor and lazy loser
>you are communist because youre rich and spoiled entitled elitist
It never ends.
>>833002I think it's making fun of every western suburban kid who larps about doing a revolution, not just ones of the communist variety
>>833005little dark age edit def means its not just commies the author is upset with, I'd also tend to agree with the sentiment of the post. Irl I can tell you the more money someones family has the more likely they are to advocate for just skipping to 1917 instead of doing anything of actual substance right now like going to meetings, joining trade unions, food banks, paperwork, park cleanups, actually talking to your neighbors and coworkers or any of the mundane tasks that actually builds dual power at first. Its pure aesthetic based romanticism coming from sorelians who don't know they're sorelians.
>>833008I've tried doing that shit and it sucked and didn't make anything better, now what?
>>833022you gotta have hundreds if not thousands of ppl doing that shit for years to even have the material basis for successful armed struggle. Just like any military there's like 19 logistical roles for every soldier in uniform. If you can't get twenty or more people to attend a bi-monthly meeting good luck forming a paramilitary group. Also wym by "didn't make anything better" ? Like did you unionize and get a shitty contract or something?
>>833023I tried joining parties and doing political work and it sucked, it was a bunch of dealing with fucking idiots and nasty bureaucrats
>>833005and it never makes sense. take the october revolution, or the communist party of china: most of the cadre came from relatively ok households. not necessarily upper class, but they weren't starving, which is what the author means by "upper middle class"
whenever people say shit like this, it strikes me as laziness on the part of the person saying it. what's the premise behind it?
>oh, this person is not starving, therefore they shouldn't hold any strong view on politics>oh, this person went to college, therefore they should always be afraid of violence and confrontationdeep down, you should be the guy from that picture. no, it doesn't fit well with the liberal status quo, it is not elegant or cool or whatever. but you should be eager and motivated. some chuds do, and that's one of the reasons why lone-wolf right-wing terrorism is so prevalent. of course, lone-wolf terrorism is not a good strategy and the left shouldn't do that, but it should be avoided because it is a bad strategy, not because being committed to a cause is "cringe" or "inappropriate" according to the liberals.
even if the status quo teaches you that it is more "mature" and "respectable" to be afraid of everything (specially of authority) and to never commit to anything, you should follow the primal impulse of doing things
I look like this and I talk like this
>>833000What the yellow Post-It is supposed to represent?
>>833005It is making fun of Nazis. It has nothing to do with us, OP Is just a faggot.
>>833005>>833036You know the rules, if it was making fun of gommies the artist obviously would've drawn a fat tatted up foid instead of a blonde chud
>>833024> it was a bunch of dealing with fucking idiots and nasty bureaucratsI mean this happens regardless of joining a political party but that being said thats fucked up that all the orgs in your spot sucked anon. I can't really offer you much offer than my condolences since I don't know a damn thing about the material conditions of your region and wont boss your around like some larper making demands.
>>833031Hobsbawn actually talks about how officer families produced a disproportionate amount of revolutionaries in Age of Extremes
My parents lost everything during the financial crisis. I remember having to get up at 5 am in the morning to push my father's broken car with my brother before school so he could go to his morning shift. I remember shoveling snow in winter, putting it into a bucket so we could flush they toilet because we didn't have running water that month.
>>833086>me reading this having no car or even bike just walking everywhere using shoes that have so many holes I look like the son of an industrial worker in the 1920s>me reading this still using the same clothing I used as a high schooler because I cant afford to buy new clothes>me reading this with a hole in the ceiling that has been there for like 6 years because If I spend money to fix it I wont be able to eat>me reading this when my entire diet is beans, rice, noodles and tuna cans (and water from the sink)>me when its winter and I'm just cold as fuck all day everyday because anything that creates heat is beyond my means It's no wonder americans dont revolt. If people like me who live in countries where "poverty" means living in subhuman conditions don't revolt, then a country where poverty means still having a car just will never feel the impulse or necessity to do much.
>>833086Even in larp, the Amerishart can't accurately depict what it's like to live in poverty
my mother was an immigrant from eastern europe that worked as a cleaner, raised me alone a good chunk and later she got with my stefather, who is also from eastern europe and a factory worker
most of my communist friends i know also have similar backgrounds, children of immigrants or of "unskilled" jobs
I've lived my whole life with my parents and I'll never move out. Why would I? I've accumulated a bunch of money during that time and I've lived alright. Sure I have some issues but at least I'm not as poor as some of you. Actually I feel sorry for you guys but there's not much I can or will do for you.
I don't have loving parents :(
>>833101>>833111tbf you are kinda fucked if you don't have a car in america. (Most jobs won't hire you.)
>mom had me when she was 19; did not raise me
>father impregnated her when he was 29; he also did not raise me
>raised by grandmother who was mentally ill and bad with money
>not 3rd world impoverished, but did grow up in apartments
>grandma did eventually mortage a house, defaulted in like 2 years, had to move back into apartment
>lucked out because got with girlfriend from more middle class background
>got job through room mate
i am not the strawman in OP, but i also know that it's way easier to live in america than zimbabwe or w/e.
idk why you guys like to make everything a race to the bottom on here.
>oh ur no trvprole unless you're a chimney sweep in 1850s london walking barefoot through streets covered in horse shit and broken glass, on your way to your second shift at the factory that you lost 3 fingers at, after 4 hours of sleep that you only got because your mother dosed you with laudanum in the tenement hall…
>>833133This reminds me that when i was 31 I had 19 year old co-worker call me her baby's daddy. I don't think she had any kids I assume she just liked me for some reason. But imagine if I had brave or stupid enough to take her words as an invitation. I'm probably not much different than your father. Only that I have no children and also not broke.
>>833101>>833108>>833111>>833113You imbeciles are doing the "how can you be homeless if you have a smartphone" thing. If all you can do is parrot reactionary propaganda, just go back to /pol/.
I just don't ever want to go to work again and get paid unfairly for it
the thing is, the revolution - the outward rioting protesting blowing up city hall kind of revolution that people usually imagine - may not even really be necessary, and at any rate it can't happen until the inward revolution happens first, the revolution where the petite bourgeoisie overcome the most difficult obstacle of all, which is their attachment to their own excess wealth. they're sort of like that recurring joke from the simpsons where someone is handed a bribe and they defiantly say "i don't need your stinking money" while taking the money and putting it in their pocket. they need to give it back and they can't do anything until they give it back and walk away from it. they do all these other superficial performative things to try to get around that, stop shopping at walmart or amazon, become vegetarians, donate some of their excess wealth to some charity, buy an environmentally-friendly car and put a bumper sticker on it, wag their fingers and pass judgment on people who don't do these things and bask in their delusions of moral superiority, but they're still fully invested in the capitalist dream and their tremendous sunk costs and their fear of what will become of them if they lose their jobs and their wealth and their status ensures their continued loyalty. and one cannot present to them any honest convincing argument as to why they should walk away, because there would be no outside rewards for it at all, nothing to materially gain from it, and the consequences would be severe and painful and terrifying. and these people make up about 60% of the us population and there can be no revolution without them, this isn't the kind of society that marx had in mind when he was writing about 19th century europe and its 10% bourgeoisie population. the capitalist overlords were well aware of the threat of popular revolution by the proletariat so they solved the problem like they solve any problem - with money. they bought public loyalty and created a 60% bourgeoisie society with tremendous artificial social barriers separating them from the 40% proles, the house slaves have no relationship to the field slaves and so long as they are unwilling to give up the house and return to the fields and accept the very real suffering and alienation that comes with it, there will be no revolution.
