I've thought about this a lot. All these comedy shows, when they start off, they make the women all bland, straight man woman characters, which means they're not funny at all. Marge, Lisa, etc. Family Guy started the same way where Meg and Lois are just the straight men, who have no personality or anything going on, just there to be "reasonable woman" foil to Peter. Then over time they realize that kind of wet-blanket character is unfunny and just a drag on the show in general, so they evolved it to "Lois is a mega bitch" and "Meg is a mega loser who everyone bullies. IASP followed the same exact formula with "sweet Dee" where she was just normal reasonable woman foil, to "Dee is a mega loser who everyone bullies." Simpsons never had thee balls to really evolve Lisa or Marge past that original bland straight man character.
