I think lefties should only let immigrants in if they are actual refugees who need help and not if they are just there for cheap labor. An oversupply of workers is bad in both capitalism and socialism. The fact that so many young people can't find a job is proof that we don't need more of them.

wait… why are they cheap? could it be that you benefit from imperialism and actually deserve to be flooded by migrants until your wages are normalized with the global south, so that the entire planet is an equallly exploited proletariat with an incentive to work together across national lines to overthrow capitalism, instead of some places having a petty bourgeois labor aristocracy who sides with imperialism and nationalism and protectionism? Immigrats do not "steal" jobs because jobs aren't something to be stolen. The labor pool is not finite – there's an infinite amount of jobs that can exist. The government can always find something for anyone to do, but you probably can't say the same about the jobs in the private sector. The fact that so many young people can't find a job is a failure of capitalism.

No there fucking isnt, if you add more people contributing to the shared labour pool, and there is nothing more you wish to produce, you can cut the workhours. There might be finite demand for resources, but there is infinite demand for time.

What, why? I mean within capitalist system that is the result, obviously, you want to squeeze the proles as much as you can, but you claim more labourers would somehow be bad in socialism, which makes no sense.
Look at it this way:
You have 10 workers total, each putting in 20 labour hours, 10 for personal consumption, 10 as surplus, so total surplus is 100. Add 1 worker, now the surplus is 110, but you dont need 110, you need 100. So now everyone can work 10/11=0.91 hours less, so the labour time demanded from each worker shortens to 19.09 hours, while the personal consumption fund remains unchanged, 10. So no reason to change the wages.
