it took me a while to find this one. TWA flight 800 allegedly shot down by accident or terrorists. it was blamed on a fuel tank. but dozens of eyewitnesses saw a fireball streaking up into the before the explosion. later on NTSB investigators also said that when the wreckage was taken out of the sea, late at night strange guys turned up and started hammering away at the pieces of metal to bend it. eyewitnesses that day were also threatened to shut up.
then to quiet all the conspiracies the CIA released this video showing what happened and had to print in large letters it was NOT A MISSILE.

The transponder was deliberately turned off by someone in the cockpit. All the actual aviation-based evidence points to a deliberate crash, especially given wreckage that has washed up shows no signs of explosive damage
