How does this etsy Djinn stuff work? Does anyone here ,have any experience with it? any amazing success (or spooky) stories?
it's expensive but it seems real somehow? my gut instinct tells me it sends real djinn to you or whatever
If you need to pay someone else to do magick for you, pay me. Summoning a djinn ain't hard.
Seriously though, don't pay anyone for magick. The whole point of it is the inner work it forces you to do, that's what makes the physical effects follow. Check out wizardforums, there are plenty of people there willing to help you learn.
Here's a brief writeup on djinn based on my experience binding a djinn to my glasses. I'm due for a djinn transfer ritual soon because I need to renew my prescription and get new lenses/frames. The djinn transfer ritual essentially consists of tying the two objects together by a string and telling the djinn to move into the new container. I'll probably burn a white and black candle when I do it because that's what I did when I originally bound the djinn.
The original djinn binding ritual consists showering with unscented soap, plucking a hair from your head, lighting black, white and red candles, putting an object (in this case, my glasses) into a bowl, burning the hair in the red candle, then extinguishing the candles and taking the object out. While the candles were lit, I spoke aloud an appeal to any djinn nearby who wanted to work with me, asking them to enter the object. The hair is said to be an offering of life force, and a small amount to us is a large amount to a djinn because they don't have bodies. My wife makes unscented soap so I was in luck there, part of why I did it in the first place, I had everything I needed to do it already.
So what is a djinn anyway?
It's the arabic word for a nature spirit from the time before Islam. It's the same entity as the spirits that First Nations people work with, it's the same entity as the nature spirits of European folklore. It's just a regional term.
I didn't have any specific goal with this djinn, I just wanted to get to know nature spirits better so I looked for one willing to work with me indefinitely. My weather magick has definitely been on point lately, though it's worth saying I never have been selfish with it. I got a new-to-me car this year, and my chihuahua is 90% trained out of barking at the neighbors (and it's a chihuahua, so that 90% is enough to get noticed by the neighbors). In short, everything's going my way.
It's worth saying I broke one of the cardinal bound djinni rules. You're not supposed to take the object with you into the bathroom. I put my djinni in my prescription glasses I wear the entire time I'm awake. Djinni has never complained about it, but it also feels worth saying that I told the djinn my plans for this object before I bound it, so presumably there was a host of djinni considering entering the object and the one that was the most suited for me entered my glasses. I've heard of people experiencing conflict with their djinnis after binding them, I'd assume this is because they were hasty in binding their djinn and didn't negotiate/stipulate ahead of time. My djinn experience has been entirely positive. If it's shown itself to me (something the book that gave me the ritual mentioned may happen), I haven't seen it, nor has it told me its name. But I do feel it is present, because I've had more moments of what feels like "divine inspiration" since I bound it, which is what's supposed to happen when you have a djinn whispering in your ear all day.
I can't easily find the book I used for my djinn ritual, it was on an old computer that I wiped, but I attached an alternate book I found that I skimmed and it seems to be of high quality and with similar rituals in it. It should work. Ritual works because of the overarching themes, the details aren't the important part. People who write rituals know (or should know) that every instance of the ritual will have slight variations because it's happening in reality, not on paper.
I heavily advise that if you're thinking of buying an etsy djinn spell, you do the work and do it yourself, because if you don't even do what this book suggests and put yourself in a receptive state and open yourself up to changes in the air currents or temperature to sense the djinn's presence, how are you going to believe in the power of someone else's djinn ritual? The summoning/binding ritual is your opportunity to introduce yourself to your new life companion, it just feels a bit perverse to pay someone else to handle the introduction and just buy the spirit like it's a bundle of tea. Will it ever really be as important to you if you weren't there when the djinn answered the summons?
