DEGENERALISATION AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU

We have voted internally and decided that we will try not enforcing generals. This means that if you have something to say about China, USA, Ukraine, etc, you can make your own thread rather than use the existing generals. We will not be moving active threads into the generals anymore (but we might if they have not been posted in for several days). This does not mean the traditional generals will be deleted or anything though. The only exception is /ISG/ which will still be enforced.

In addition all threads will be uncycled as we felt this contributes to bad posting habits as people feel any good posts will just be slid off the thread anyway. It also makes it much easier to go back and find old effortposts on a fast moving subject.

Please try not to abuse this new system, if there are like 10 threads all made about the same topic we might have to reassess if it is working or not. Obviously we will also see if this is a positive or negative change and we may change our minds later. But for now let a thousand topics bloom!
