Garrison saw Trump as the next Ron/Rand Paul, some kind of underdog for libertarian American values that would be the protagonist against the Big Bad Government of Hillary Clinton. When Trump actually won against all odds, Ben had already committed himself to the bit so he had to act like the messiah had been elected and everything Trump did was beyond criticism. I think one of the most important moments for the modern Democratic Party that isn't talked about is the 1991 Louisiana gubernatorial race. You had an openly corrupt Democrat running against David Duke, the leader of the Ku Klux Klan. And because the opponent of the Democrat was the head of the KKK, people came out in droves to support him despite knowing that he was corrupt, and even had funny little slogans like "Vote for the Crook" and "Better a lizard than a wizard."
Then, just a year later, an oddball presidential election season characterized by the challenge of Ross Perot allowed Bill Clinton to tack to the right and sweep up a bunch of conservative states in his "Southern Strategy."
This put an idea into the heads of the Democratic Party leadership. They imagined a Democratic Party that managed to bring the "moderate conservatives" into their fold, thus becoming a "big tent" party that won every election by default because they were only opposed by the lunatic fringe. They don't have to do anything, can be as corrupt as they want and still win endless, infinite elections because their only real opponents are wizards. They have been trying at it for the past three decades and, as far as the shambling corpses that run the party and their sycophant staffers are concerned, the 90s never ended.
I think that's an important aspect to know about the specific character of the Democrats beyond them just being a bourgeois liberal party. It's why they will never even pretend to be a leftist party for votes. It's why you can probably bet right now that the DNC will probably run on trying to capture Never Trump Republicans and some kind of "moderate MAGA" in 2028 rather than on destroying MAGA.
>>2781695they hated communist china way before their rise in manufacturing
>>2781699Thats all true but there is negligible constituents for center right politics. They would have a better chance of rebranding as lolberts but even then the American electorate isn't sold on capitalisms anymore.

The war is still going on, the Strait is still double blockaded, and Iran has made clear they dont want to give up their right to make nukes so there's no deal on the table. So why the fuck does the market act like everything is fine? Why are oil prices falling back down to 90 dollars a barrel? Why are the stonks suddenly up along with this vague talk of "Iran and America close to making a deal" when it's the same shit we've seen all last month?
I swear I feel like I'm being gaslit but on a national scale
>>2781713>American electorate isn't sold on capitalisms anymore. That's the thing and it is a ticking time bomb. The whole capitalist bootstrap story isn't believable anymore and socialism isn't a buzzword to shut down any conversation. 2028 will be the last hurrah of the last remnants of the Reagan Revolution
>>2781721The 2019's stock market crash was a real aura check for Trump and because of how chud maxxed all the actual giga billionaires are, it makes sense why they would just chuck some change into the stock market there.
All of their wealth is from actual tangible capital and not the stocks anyways. Even elon musk
>>2781724Exactly, like how is one supposed to avoid "anti-capitalist sentiment" if one isn't even allowed to participate in the economy in the first place? We're going to have an entire generation of "domestic terrorists" because everyone will have a negative view of their shitty circumstances except the wealthiest of the wealthy
>>2781721Hype normalization, the ruling class has no choice but to pretend everything is okay. Wealth is so concentrated they can make the stock market whatever number they want.
>>2781724>>2781726>Exactly, like how is one supposed to avoid "anti-capitalist sentiment" if one isn't even allowed to participate in the economy in the first place? We're going to have an entire generation of "domestic terrorists" because everyone will have a negative view of their shitty circumstances except the wealthiest of the wealthyI don't see how they'll be able to maintain the fascist state necessary. They'll have to abandon all imperialist ambitions to contain domestic unrest. They blew all political capital and goodwill for a far right strong man on Trump. They may be able to pull of some kind of corporate military junta but all that will do is make the U.S a giant Libya or America because the new Middle East and is just a giant ongoing "managed" warzone.
>>2781706Mao was a crypto trotskyist
>>2781724>The whole capitalist bootstrap story isn't believable anymore IMO It's not about what one has, but what one has
to lose. The US is still the world hegemon, as crises deepen, it keeps being made more explicit what consequences failing to enforce that order means. Even now, when the face of the USA is the orange retard, the people are pining for the "normality" of a neocon Democrat turn.
And they are not entirely wrong, IMHO. Whatever one thinks of China, their policy is clear: They won't get in the way of global liberalism.
Every bit of ground lost is not going to anticapitalism, it's going to other liberals who will do to you exactly as bad as you do to your lessers now. It's the dog eats dog world liberalism built with so much effort.
Another way to look at it:
If people were pointedly aware of the consequences to themselves from liberating Palestine(and generally undoing the material basis for Israel): How many do you think would trade losing the petrodollar, control of MENA, losing the cold war(with the above consequences) and probably crashing their own economies… over the lives of some foreigners half the world away?
I think just about nobody in NATO would soberly make that decision. Hence the problem of "apolitical" activism, which can't offer the revolutionary alternative, basing their appeals on intoxicating the masses with emotion. And in so, pitting their meager voluntarist strength against the bourgeois PR machine.
>>2781534Evangelical Christians are deeply brainwashed.
>>2781766>Even now, when the face of the USA is the orange retard, the people are pining for the "normality" of a neocon Democrat turnPeople are not even pining for a democrat turn. This isn't the same with Biden normalcy in 2020. The entire system is seen nihilistically right now.
>>2781546>Critical Drinker just got a fucking MOVIE PRODUCER and NOVELIST on his podcast???
>that is not nothingThat is nothing.
Liberals and progressives get Hollywood people and minor celebrities on their podcasts/streams/etc all the time.
>>2781721The stock market is pure vibes and not real.
The fact that the economy is built on it shows how royally fucked we are once the vibes die.
>>2781766Also the "culture war" has made it so people are used to cynically backing things they know not to be true, just to contribute to their perceived side's (cultural) war effort. This removes a huge weakness of propaganda, now that the flow of information is very hard to control. The censor has to be on our head, even if it's ultimately directed from above. The public has to play a part in crafting and upholding their own propagandized worldview.
>>2781546But people barely give a shit about Vivian James today, maybe she's slightly more memorable than Amelia because of her connection to Gamergate but otherwise right wing "memes" barely ever reach the average "normie" conservative or right wing voter outside of twitter and 4chan. Some of that is by design too, many of these are discarded when they become too popular amongst the "normalfags" anyways, right wing popular culture has no staying power because it's not designed too, Right wing and capitalist propaganda is but the generic "memes" they shit out certainly aren't.
>>2781534I know several people who think he was sent to start the events that'll lead up to the Second Coming.

But yes, I expect the automation to reach the driver service first, refined on cabs and ridesharers before implementation to truckers and other higher stakes stuff. My big concern is how the transition could be made once a significant amount of driverless vehicles have to co-exist with human drivers. Because the biggest benefits may come once the whole of traffic can be modeled and centralized without unpredictable, uncontrollable humans in the way of efficiency or safety or subscription profits. If it ever gets *that shit*, I expect a big push for TAAS(Transport as a Service) as soon as it is normalized and given a favorable legal framework.

https://t.me/s/Middle_East_Spectator Reading about Crazy Tom, the agent provocateur.
>On 27 November, 2011, Reader Supported News published perhaps the best work of left-wing movement journalism ever written. It is about the bizarre story of Thomas Edward Mosher, better known as “Crazy Tom.” He was an FBI asset in COINTELPRO who wreaked havoc across California during the late 1960s and early 70s. Some readers may recognize Crazy Tom from J. Sakai’s Basic Politics of Movement Security, where Tom guest-stars as a fascist wrecker in Chicago activist circles.
>Sakai reports that Tom was a dangerous individual who infiltrated left-wing groups using his working-class cultural credentials. One particularly receptive group was comprised of middle-class university students who found Tom’s tough-guy persona appealing, in no small part due to their own misogynistic tendencies. Tom primarily agitated among poor white youth, exhorting them to fight for “White Power” as a seeming mirror to the Black Panthers’ “Black Power,” thus smuggling in the nascent Neo-Nazi movement’s politics into the white left. The sharper local activists, particularly a group of neighborhood women, immediately saw Tom’s fascist agenda and went about stopping it. The women correctly realized that Tom’s racist views and reckless troublemaking meant that he was a federal agent of some kind. They kicked him out of Chicago, and that was apparently the end of it.
>Not so. Crazy Tom next appeared in California, where he went on a multi-year rampage against local left-wing groups. His campaign of terror exploited the foolish adventurism then-prevalent in much of the left. Tom began by turning an Epstein-esque hippie ranch into a militant training camp, well-stocked with weaponry, munitions, and high explosives. Tom soon recruited a militant Black student activist, who became his chief bomb-maker and unwitting accomplice in his strangest antics. This ingratiated Tom with the Black Panther Party, which, at that time, was undergoing major internal tensions and severe state repression. Combined with the pressure from above, the Panthers’ delusions about the “coming revolution” made them particularly susceptible to Tom’s malign influence. He soon became a key player in their armed activities, training cohorts of Panthers in his camp and going out on night raids with a Panther leader. This, in turn, led to Tom and other Panthers to begin sticking up drug dealers throughout the Bay Area for personal profit.
>Most disturbingly, Tom’s activities led to the murder of the respected Black Panther member Fred Bennett. The chain of events began with a harebrained scheme to free George Jackson from prison and ended with one of Jackson’s old friends murdering Bennett up in the mountains on suspicion of being an informant. The Panthers’ already severe internal paranoia was grossly intensified by Tom’s incitement. After the murder, Bennett’s body was burned and destroyed in an attempt to hide the crime. Sakai reports that there were several other victims of Tom’s campaign, but the circumstances of their deaths were too murky to definitively prove Tom’s involvement–likely due to state censorship. The Bennett incident proved to be a hot item in the California press, further discrediting the beleaguered left. What the papers failed to mention–in large part due to their own alliance with the FBI in general and Tom in particular–was that much of this depraved violence was a direct consequence of state activities.

Inside the Radical Zionist Group Linked to an N.Y.C. Assassination Plot
The Jewish Defense League had long been largely inactive. But an arrest in a plan to kill a Palestinian activist shed light on an apparent resurgence of far-right Zionism, inspired by the J.D.L.

Communists I knew were talking about the automation of finance back like 10 years ago with our suspicions that they were using algorithms for trading - if they are all doing it with the same algorithm its effectively market manipulation on a mass scale where they all benefit to be in on it. Corruption on the scale of backroom dealings becomes obsolete - with someone like Trump he probably just has a mailing list of people he forwards US foreign policy to before he does it so they can all feed that information into that AI bot to do the appropriate trading and/or market manipulation.
It's the ultimate bouj cartel, and the difference is really the level of conformity - human actors can "get ahead" of others, the AI less so. it would be informative as to why the S&P is so stagnant if it is all AI - they basically settled their own consensus on reality and are programmed in across so many decades of data to stick to it, and the US apparatus knows how to keep enforcing it via state-mandated headlines. They've made their own God in the Invisible Hand of the Market via these AIs and they are sticking to their God's truth.
>>2782475<lostHe said Trust, not Trusted.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KahanismKahanism is a religious Zionist[17] ideology that denotes the controversial positions espoused by Rabbi Meir Kahane. Kahane proposed that the State of Israel should enforce Jewish law (Halakha), as codified by Maimonides,[citation needed] under which non-Jews who wish to dwell in Israel would have three options: remain as "resident strangers" with all rights but national ones, which would require non-Jews to accept resident-stranger status with all rights but political ones. Those unwilling to accept such a status will be required to leave the country with full compensation, and those who refuse to do even that will be forcibly removed.[18]
Kahanism's central claim is that the vast majority of the Arabs of Israel are and will continue to be enemies of Jews and Israel itself, and that a Jewish theocratic state, governed by Halakha law, absent of a voting non-Jewish population that includes Israel, Palestine, areas of modern-day Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, should be created.[19]
>Menachem Mendel Schneerson supported Kahane on many issues concerning Israel, including the issue of Arabs, relinquishing land, building settlements and the incorporation of Jewish law into Israeli policy. After hearing of Kahane's death, Schneerson remarked that "one of the greatest Jewish leaders in history has fallen." He later blessed Kahane's son to be successful in fulfilling his "holy father's" work.[81]Menachem Mendel Schneerson[a] (April 18, 1902 – June 12, 1994), known to adherents of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement as the Lubavitcher Rebbe or simply the Rebbe,[1][2] was an Orthodox rabbi and the Rebbe of the Lubavitch Hasidic dynasty. He is considered one of the most influential Jewish leaders of the 20th century.[3][4]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menachem_Mendel_Schneerson >>2782480based on your text and actual history it doesn't make any difference wether bots or actual humans do insider trading or manipulate the market.
>>2782498To a degree, you are correct. The AI algorithm is far more conformist and stagnant than a human-traded market, the human-traded market thusly would be more irrational relative to market rationality (which ironically would align it closer with reality). AI is capable of much wider and unrealistic self-delusion, and with people deferring to AI as a "truly rational actor", it allows for the markets to be even more untethered from reality than human actors could ever allow. But regardless the reality of the neoliberal consensus on the markets make it so the rationale they operate on is completely separate from our own reality, so for us its just a novel question as to if a human is doing it or if an AI is doing it. Perhaps even a question of faith in our fellow man in how far they'd let the delusion go on for, if one is so inclined.
Of course, we see from its application in practice that the second this market-force engages with any factor in reality it just loses because it's delusional - Ukraine and Iran are spectacular failures of American planning, economic sustainability, and military action all borne out of the mass-delusion of the market system. Be it the delusion of machine or of man, it is doomed to fail against the reality it tries to run from.
>>2782456'leave Trump to me'
The attack came as Meloni said that her far-right government would suspend the automatic renewal of its defence cooperation agreement with Israel “in light of the current situation”.
“Giorgia Meloni doesn’t want to help us in the war. I’m shocked,” Trump said. “Do people like the fact that your president isn’t doing anything to get the oil [in Iran]? Does she like it? I can’t imagine.”
Trump said he did not think the Chicago-born pontiff was “doing a very good job”, while also suggesting he should “stop catering to the radical left”.
Meloni criticised remarks by Trump targeting the pope, calling them “unacceptable”. She added that she would not feel comfortable in a society where religious leaders were expected to follow the direction of political leaders.
“She is the one who is unacceptable,” Trump replied, “because she doesn’t care if Iran has a nuclear weapon and would blow up Italy in two minutes if it had the chance.”

When it pops, it'll likely take a lot down with it.
>>2782960I pray that the pop is even worse than anyone can imagine

LLM's aren't oging to be "it" but we can't really avoid the issue very much longer.

>>2782986you are so brave thank you brave pragmatic patriot you stand for freedom and democracy and eagle

>>2782997to stupid USAnian leftists this makes his own war crimes OK.
>>2783001Yeah sure old Russian dude #7,926 based and cool.
>>2782984>>2782998I think one of the big issues with the AI craze is like: what is AGI supposed to accomplish? I see a lot of tech bros who've got this pseudo-fantasy view of it, that they're basically creating some omniscient machine god that'll be able to solve all their problems.
But here's the rub with that, I think we can agree that Capitalism evolves these contradictions which fundamentally undermine it, some of these contradictions are so serious that you essentially have to transcend Capitalism to resolve them.
Look at Elon Musk's frequent attempts to make Grok "not woke" or whatever. He throws a temper tantum and gets in the guts of the thing whenever it contradicts him, which has led to people easily breaking Grok's ai by asking it the Trolley problem with such absurd questions as "Would you save every single child on earth or pull the lever and let a bit of mud get on Elon's suit?" And Grok responding that the death of every child on earth is a small price to pay for Elon's suit to be clean. It reminds me of this story I heard that you had these scientists build a model to try and find the perfect way to reduce traffic. Y'know, no more getting stuck for an hour on the 405, that sorta stuff. Well the model kept reinventing "public transit" again and again, and so you had these scientists fruitlessly tinker with the model over and over because the solution HAD to be one designed around a car-centric culture, and frankly the best we could do in that regard is just "build another lane".
So lets say these guys actually do manage to build HAL or Cortana or Durandal. They build their machine god and say "Oh Machine God, how do we reverse climate change?" It analyzes all the data, and it returns: "Ban private jet travel, build public transportation and high-density housing, convert deserts into solar farms." Well, these guys would just as easily wrinkle their nose and say "Well SOMETHING must have gone wrong!" And then lobotomize the fucking thing in hopes of some other solution.
I don't think even if we get AGI, assuming its possible, that we'd even
keep it under class society. I think that the tech bros, that a segment of the bourgeoisie, have adopted a
completely magical worldview. They want solutions that are impossible, in a sense. Its like a guy desperate to lose weight, so someone tells him to go to the gym:
>"No I wont do that, I'm worried I'll hurt myself."<"Okay, well go on walks or do some light cardio.">"No no, there's no place that's nice to walk around here, and I'd be wasting gas just going to the gym to walk!"<"Well, track your eating habits and consume less calories than you passively burn.">"There's no way I can keep track of EVERYTHING I eat! I'd go crazy! I got to work a lot, too, that's just asking too much!"There's a guy a friend of a friend of mine knows. He works on his feet, but outside of that he's got a wholly sedentary lifestyle. He drinks to excess. He's a diabetic. The guy is overweight and his health suffers because of it.
So what happens when Ozempic comes out? He takes it and it changes nothing, because he's still drinking a ton of his calories, he's still not exercising, he conceives of Ozempic as a magic injection that just makes you skinnier. I think we'll see the same, more and more, with tech bros and advanced AI. It's supposed to "solve" problems, but whatever solution it comes up with will be unacceptable when you make money not solving the problem.
>>2782998"AGI is impossible to make" is a nonsensical theory that has hidden layers of idealism assuming that there is necessarily some level of unknowable knowledge to humanity that cannot be replicated on a functional level

https://www.gofundme.com/manage/erik-houdini-legal-fundWaking up in a cold sweat at 3am, heart pounding, hands scrambling for my phone. Did I miss the check in? Did I forget to send my location? The selfie? The automated hotline? Twice a week I report in. Once a week, exact coordinates and a photo. Every photo? Same place. Same motel. Another day, a robotic voice confirming I still exist within the lines they've drawn.
Miss one. Just one. And it's back to jail. Back to the pod. To the inedible food, the smell of old feet, the noise, the lack of sunlight, of books to read. That feeling, that paranoia, that moment of pure panic where you're already back in cuffs before your eyes even open. How much different is that from the not knowing if you can keep the water bill on? Afford to buy your kids school uniforms?
How much different is that from the feeling of the only food in your stomach that day being a cheap carb, a pop tart for dinner from the corner store? How much different is that from the paranoia of trying to go to your roofing job, only to have to worry that you might never come home to your family, taken and locked in an ICE containment camp? How much different is that from coming home from a 50 hour week at the warehouse, not being paid enough to live? How much different is that from waking up in a cold sweat when you've realized that you just spent all the money you worked 2 weeks for on the rent, and the electric bill is still due?
"We don't want to work." That's the wonderful little earbug of a narrative. But who wants to work for a pittance? Just to pass the time? What's the work for if it can't pay the rent? If it can't care for the community. If we don't want to work, then why are the people who clean up the alleyways, the empty lots, the underpasses—always volunteers? Or, ironically, prison labor.
Consider that my next court date isn't until April 24th, and it's primarily a status check in. Had I not been bonded out—a privilege I have due to HOUDINI Magazine and my support network—I would still be in jail, and could very well be in jail for the next 4 to 6 months, maybe more. So I am deeply grateful that I was able to be bonded out, that I get to have this freedom, but I lucky, even despite the job loss.
Countless thousands are sitting in jail right now because they lack the ability to pay cash bail. They have not been given a trial, nor have they been found guilty at a trial, yet some of these men and women will do potentially years in jail. Not prison, jail. Counties all across the country are getting paid per head, per bunk filled, and if you want out? The task is simple: prove you aren't a poor, working class person. Cash bail only further criminalizes the working class, and it ultimately only serves the capitalist. An alleged Instagram comment, a series of Discord messages—these cost my comrades, my community, my family, $2000. The average American cannot afford a $400 emergency expense. Can't afford cash bail? You stay in jail. Next thing you know, you walk away from the last court day, proven innocent by your peers, but punished either in payment, time or paranoia or all three.
It is such a juxtaposition, what the mainstream press and well-to-do-people speak about. The talk of "no one wants to work," as if we are just lazy or perhaps even ungrateful for the rising rent prices. And yet, all across the nation those who want to work are doing the work, in their communities, their neighborhoods, their cities. Us? we're organizing an community cleanup group through our DSA chapter, which is, for the record incredibly small, but full of moxie. We're going to be doing a bi monthly clean up day. Because everywhere in this country is caked in trash, filth, rubbish, decay. Decay. Whether it's the used, faded bottle of Coca Cola or the ripped, rotting remains of a McDonald's meal, there's a decay that coats our surroundings. We believe in renewal, in a new deal, a new social contract, and that's just one way to prove it.
But they tell us we don't want to work, while telling us there's also no jobs, while telling us we just need to get more skills, while putting us to work in the jails that we have to pay for with the money we struggle to get because we can't find work. All the while the rent goes up, the trash builds and all the while, there's so much work needing to be done, and no one is getting paid to do it. It would take a lot of work to build high speed rail, laying tracks across this great nation piece by steel worker welded piece. It would take a lot of work to build a true, future proofed fiber optic network across the country, connecting the rural, the disenfranchised, and everyone to modern, reliable internet. It would take a whole lot of work to rebuild our communities to withstand increasingly powerful hurricanes and 100 year every year floods. It will take a lot of work to reopen all of these rural hospitals that have closed, training a new generation of healthcare workers who work for the people and not the insurance executives. It takes a lot of work to make meals to feed 50 to 100 people at the food share every week. It takes a lot of work to shop for and deliver groceries to families affected by ICE. It takes a lot of work to have meetings, discussion groups, outreach, to figure out how to fundraise so the gentleman with the bad back at the food share can get a new walker, since his was confiscated by the police after he was arrested for trespassing, there's another 4 dozen people, they all have needs, and it takes a village to do that work. There are groups all across the country who are doing that work. It takes a whole lot of work to build the village back better.
But we're told that don't want to work, that's what the news reel in the jailhouse blares over the TV, which is oh so small but oh so loud, mounted on the top corner of that jail pod. The older man in the suit with the microphone drones on and on about the lack of work ethic, while you and 5 other people load up for the work release program. Another 30 cents an hour shift to man the McDonald's. Another 20 cents an hour shift to fight the wildfires. Another 10 cents an hour to clean up the trash on the side of the road. $500 bond. Court moves slow, and of course you've got to keep busy. Besides, if you lock in and really grind for that 20 cents an hour? You'll be able to pay off your bond in 70 days.
I am beyond grateful for the support network I have, and my solidarity forever remains with those who are toiling without a network. Solidarity for every worker, in and out of the jailhouse, because ultimately, rich men don't go to prison. They go to private islands.
If you can, please help keep me out of the cage. Share this, donate if you can, and get involved in your community. Even if it's helping just one person, that could make all the difference, because ultimately, an injury to one is an injury to all.
In Solidarity,
Erik Houdini

Tucker Carlson speaks out against the IHRA definition of "anti-Semitism."
"About forty states have adopted this… [it] tells you that criticism of the secular state of Israel or portions of the New Testament are 'anti-Semitism.'"
https://xcancel.com/infolibnews/status/2044624077617242198#mhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IHRA_definition_of_antisemitismThe definition has been criticised by academics, including legal scholars, for equating antisemitism with the criticism of Israeli actions and policies. Critics say the definiton can enable the weaponization of antisemitism to stifle free speech regarding Israel. They also argue that weaknesses in the working definition may lend themselves to abuse, that it may obstruct campaigning for the rights of Palestinians (as in the Palestine exception[12]), and that it is too vague.[13][14][b]
In February 2024, the American Civil Liberties Union wrote a letter to U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, warning that the IHRA definition of antisemitism could limit free speech about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at U.S. colleges and universities.[250]
In February 2017, a letter signed by 243 British academics, who asserted that the "violation of the rights of Palestinians for more than 50 years" should not be silenced, contends "this definition seeks to conflate criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism" and raised concerns about muddying the definition of antisemitism and restricting free debate on Israel.[211][212]
A 6 June 2023 report from the European Legal Support Center,[225] an activist defender of Palestinian rights in Europe, analyzes dozens of case studies and the report authors say that they show the IHRA definition being used to restrict freedom of expression and assembly.[226][227][228]
>Tucker Carlson slams UK's Palestine Action ban, calls Keir Starmer 'enslaved'https://www.middleeasteye.net/live-blog/live-blog-update/tucker-carlson-slams-uks-palestine-action-ban-calls-keir-starmerProminent American journalist Tucker Carlson has condemned the British government's ban on the direct action group Palestine Action in an interview with the BBC.
Speaking on Sunday morning, BBC presenter Victoria Derbyshire asked Carlson, a former Fox News host who has been a staunch critic of the US-Israeli war on Iran, whether British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made the right decision.
"I don't think Keir Starmer makes any calls about anything," Carlson replied.
"I mean, Keir Starmer's not in control of Britain."
Carlson added: "No, Keir Starmer is every bit as enslaved as Donald Trump is. It is illegal - it is a crime for which you can be arrested - in Britain right now, criticising Israel. If you say you're for Palestine Action, you can be arrested.
"A lot of people have been arrested. So in other words, it is not legal in Britain to criticise another country."
Derbyshire challenged the statement, saying: “That is not true.”
Carlson responded: "I'm sorry, what is not true about that? Have people not been arrested in Britain for criticising Israel? They certainly have been."
Derbyshire replied: "If I may, Palestine Action is a proscribed group. It is banned. Therefore, people have been arrested."
"Why is it banned?" Carlson asked. "It's banned because the Israeli government wanted it banned."

They don't care no AGI will emerge or be useful to anybody. They care they'll be the ones all the world's information flows through, to a personal degree of detail. They care that every codebase will be backdoored by their tools and checked by their tools. And every email will be written, or checked for spam by their services. They care for their tools to become the drivers of exploitation and automation.
They care that their enterprises get national security monopolies from the MiC and security states and get to turn all of computing into a service you rent from them.

Communists seek to seize control of the means of production, not destroy them in childish entitled rage
>>2783467Remember what cpusa did in the 60s. They called puertoricanaa who attacked white house terrrorists, praising the cia and the president. They side against the black revolution
>>2783469Data centres aren't means of production. They don't produce anything.
>>2783467I’m not taking anybody’s “side” I’m just happy to rag on retards like Sabo
>>2783466>Im not scared of ai or whateveruh huh im sure
>>2783473It called creative destruction. Study dialectics. Data center AI revolutionize production
>>2783460>At a time when workers are angrier than ever and are violently lashing out against the ruling class, do you think it's the job of communists to tell them to calm down?I didn't say that. in fact my image suggests to redirect their anger to the proper target: the mode of production and the ruling class rather than the instruments of production. again. i don't care about "AI" "slop". I'm not protecting "slop" from angry workers. I'm saying the entire mode of production is already built on tremendous waste. the bourgeoisie have always destroyed their own constant capital and used artificial scarcity to regulate prices and protect profit rates from crises of overproduction. "AI" "slop" is simply the latest and most stupid manifestation of a phenomenon that has existed since the 1700s.
>>2783473data has a market value and AI provides productivity gains to the value chain so you're dead wrong
>>2783473>Data centres aren't means of production. They don't produce anything.if workers seized them and actually used them for practical applications they would
>>2783480>focusing on the retard who jumped in late and ignoring the good argsyep this place fuckin SUCKS
>>2783478I get your point but you need to consider the implications of what you're saying and how that will be perceived by the people we're trying to reach. If people take to the streets in a town because they don't want a data centre to be built there, or if they sabotage one that's already there, should communists be the ones telling them not to? Will that make them view us as allies and defenders of their interests? Or will sound like liberals who are always trying to reign in the militancy of the working class? I think it's fine to call for focus, direction, and discipline, but one thing we shouldn't be calling for is calm.
>>2783486stop the data centers from being built. burn them down. i literally could give less of a shit what burgers do. anything that disrupts production in their empire is good. i would say weapons factories are even more high priority targets than the data centers. but i will always laugh at "butlerian jihadist" rhetoric which is the opposite of marxist education. you're just using it as a naive sorelian myth just like people who pretend jesus buddha moses and muhammad were marxists. "AI" doesn't exist, there is machine learning which does have actual practical STEM applications outside of "slop" and americans who screech "butlerian jihad" are so afraid of learning to distinguish between the two things that they will just flatten all post-1950 technology into a two letter label "AI" and demand its wholesale destruction. motherfucker you throw out half your food and are destroying the planet with fossil fuels. "slop" is borderline irrelevant when you're turning children into marinara with bombs every day.
>>2783455>I mean if your “job” is some furry pornography “artist” funnily enough that's been one of the least attacked groups of artists, the majority of the artists who have lost jobs have been in advertisement
>>2783486those people aren't anti-AI crusaders, they are NIMBYs who want nothing built and for society to be frozen in time. sorry backwards peasant, your small dying town WILL be built up and renovated
example 1: >A proposed $2.4 billion Chinese-owned Gotion High-Tech electric vehicle battery plant in Green Charter Township, Michigan, was officially abandoned in October 2025 following intense local opposition, lawsuits, and political scrutiny regarding its ties to China. The project was meant to create 2,350 jobs, but the state is now seeking repayment of over $23 million in awarded incentives.
These people work against their interests. They don't want jobs. The myth of the american noble savage needs to go
>>2783490idk. fine. burn them down. i'm sure the atmosphere will just love that
>>2783491>those people aren't anti-AI crusaders, they are NIMBYs who want nothing built and for society to be frozen in timeYeah I'm sure the fact that they use up all the local water supply and poison what remains has nothing to do with it.
>example 1Not a data centre and thus unrelated.
>>2783455Trades probably account for around 13% of the U.S. workforce so that’s not surprising. Last number I saw for job replacement by AI in the U.S. was around 10-15% over 5 years. It’s going to suck but a lot of it will be entry level service sector positions.
>>2783493what do anti communists actually fucking want? first you say reform not revolution. then when marxists actually develop productive forces, you accuse them of being reformist capitalists rather than real revolutionaries. do you want some kind of RETVRN to pre capitalist society? what the fuck do you want?
>>2783487so its all about a hate boner you have against online anti-AI larpers?
>>2783497You and your bourgeois masters to go away
>>2783494>Yeah I'm sure the fact that they use up all the local water supply and poison what remains has nothing to do with it.right because the problem isn't technology but the impractical application of it by capitalists who are deliberately restricting the productive forces and building destructive forces instead to prevent a crisis of overproduction with planned obsolesence, artificial scarcity, and deliberate waste. which is why the "butlerian jihad" rhetoric becomes so dangerous in that context: it's not actually highlighting the distinction between productive and destructive forces, it just declares all technology to be the target. it's sorelian mythmaking and not actual marxist education. FUCK

I want everyone to notice how good the bourgeoisie are at getting us to reframe their destruction, waste, planned obsolescence, and artificial scarcity as a conflict between Luddites and Malthusians.
The capitalist want us to argue over whether a human being or a piece of technology is more wasteful, but technology exists to be used as a tool by human beings to abridge labor processes. Everywhere you see technology being used to DESTROY rather than CREATE (i.e. in war, in wasteful data centers, in perfectly good food getting throw in locked dumpsters, etc.) the problem is not the existence of the technology itself but the MODE OF PRODUCTION

keynes literally said to make people dig holes and fill them up again to make fake jobs and waste productive forces for the sake of profit and price stability. that is literally what data centers are. that's why they are a destructive force and not a productive force. it's no different than burning coffee for fuel in the ships or killing workers in imperialist wars. capital is so addicted to its profit rate that it will literally become reactionary against the very thing that once made it progressive versus feudalism: productive forces. it is absolutely essential that we do not misdiagnose the problem as tech itself.
>>2783672

>>2783685>Nobody here is anti-techmaybe but they ignore my basic questions that try to pin down their actual position and get them to clarify whether they are anti tech or not

>>2783693I think you're extrapolating way too much from a meme slogan from a book series, but let's move on from that for now. Yes, technology is not inherently good or bad, it all depends on who's using it and what they're using it for, and right now in the west LLMs are largely used for the stuff I mentioned earlier. But if you're really concerned about people regressing into "luddism", instead of making appeals to the means of production it might be more productive if you address it by explaining how such-and-such technology could be used to improve our lives without egregious damage to the environment
I say seize the means of AI, but if you think mass murdering is better I'll add it to your notes dude
>>2783708>how such-and-such technology could be used to improve our lives without egregious damage to the environmenti've already explained that AI slop doesn't improve anything because it's a destructive force rather than a productive force. it is keynes's recommendation that instead of moving onto socialism we give people fake jobs digging holes and filling them up again. but machine learning has non-slop applications and i suggest you look into what china is doing to reduce the carbon footprint of "AI" in its actual STEM applications which are far more numerous and difficult to articulate in a short post. but to answer your question briefly there are a lot of actually useful, lower-impact ways people use machine learning that don’t involve giant models or data centers. for example, smaller models in precision agriculture help farmers use less water and fertilizer by making better predictions about soil and weather, and simple anomaly detection systems can improve energy efficiency by catching waste or equipment problems early. in healthcare, lightweight models can help read scans or prioritize patients without huge computational needs, and in transportation they can smooth traffic flow or optimize routes to save fuel. stuff like this is more about using well-targeted, efficient models than throwing massive amounts of constant capital in the form of wasted GPUs at a problem.

I see a lot of tech bros who've got this pseudo-fantasy view of it, that they're basically creating some omniscient machine god that'll be able to solve all their problems. we aren't anywhere near "AGI" and that's a weird goalpost to have in this conversation imo.
> I think we can agree that Capitalism evolves these contradictions which fundamentally undermine it, yes
>some of these contradictions are so serious that you essentially have to transcend Capitalism to resolve them.yes and one of those contradictions is that people confuse productive and destructive forces, and lash out with neoluddite slogans. they attack the means rather than the mode of production. something marx warned about in capital volume 1, which has manifested in a new way today. theoretical education is still needed even when agitation and sorelian mythmaking yield faster results. you can see debates between lenin, trotsky, and bukharin in the early 20s surrounding these same questions. same with the "dengism vs. ultras" false dilemma. these questions don't disappear once the workers seize power.
>Look at Elon Musk's frequent attempts to make Grok "not woke" or whatever. He throws a temper tantum and gets in the guts of the thing whenever it contradicts him, which has led to people easily breaking Grok's ai by asking it the Trolley problem with such absurd questions as "Would you save every single child on earth or pull the lever and let a bit of mud get on Elon's suit?" And Grok responding that the death of every child on earth is a small price to pay for Elon's suit to be clean.i have no comment on this because this is just about elon musk being a giant manbaby
> It reminds me of this story I heard that you had these scientists build a model to try and find the perfect way to reduce traffic. Y'know, no more getting stuck for an hour on the 405, that sorta stuff. Well the model kept reinventing "public transit" again and again, and so you had these scientists fruitlessly tinker with the model over and over because the solution HAD to be one designed around a car-centric culture, and frankly the best we could do in that regard is just "build another lane".that's literally the field i work in which is why i keep ranting about this stuff. it's really frustrating
>So lets say these guys actually do manage to build HAL or Cortana or Durandal. They build their machine god and say "Oh Machine God, how do we reverse climate change?" He takes it and it changes nothing, because he's still drinking a ton of his calories, he's still not exercising, he conceives of Ozempic as a magic injection that just makes you skinnier. I think we'll see the same, more and more, with tech bros and advanced AI. It's supposed to "solve" problems, but whatever solution it comes up with will be unacceptable when you make money not solving the problem.yes but that's a problem with the mode of production and i don't see how "butlerian jihad" is an articulated marxist answer to that or how this answers my questions like you said it would, no offense intended.
>>2783619>because with Trump invading Iran and apparently planning to invade and occupy Cuba its been shown how useless the "don't vote, just whine online that no one is blowing up munitions factories" crowd is.The maases arent the principal factor of your own failure, as you believe. The masses arent wrong, you are wrong. As "useless" as the masses are, youre worse because Cpusa is worse than useless. Cpusa and their errors are the reason we are here, not because masses call zohran or bernie a zio on twitter, not because the masses refused to be fooled by cpusa everfailing strategy.
>>2783721>Do you actually think your party's strategy is working?he actually does, he is unironically more delusional than felix kek
i wonder if tucker spammer is the same guy who was spamming fuentes before he fell off and started wearing epstein shirts
>>2783737Cpusanon is a decietful pussy who lies and hides just like his party. Cpusa supported fetterman, yet they blame ALL from the masses who question their fascism. Cpusa has learn from backlash from masses from their support of fetterman, but only to keep doing the same thing but more decietfully.
